That's a bummer. I had sort of started to give up hopes on him anyway, but too bad.

As I've been saying for a while now - I'd focus on Jennings as best bet to be PG next season.

If Knicks could somehow sign Jennings and Batum (and let Afflalo go, which it sounds like he might want to do), that'd be good for me.

I ask again, how much $$ for jennings who you seem desperate for?

I just think he is the most realistic chance at an upgrade at PG. I think the same contract Rolo got is a good starting point.

ok so there is where I think you are way way way WAY off.

I can't understand for the life of me how jennings is worth more than 7 million for three years and that is being generous.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

oh, I mean, you're definitely losing this.

people thought I was off-base when I said DeMarre Carroll was getting at least $12M per under LAST season's cap. He got an average of $15M over 4yrs.

If we're LUCKY, we'll get Jennings for $13M per. That would be LUCKY. Goran Dragic is making like $16M per and that deal was signed under the old cap.

how can you compare a stinker like jennings to a good player like carol?

crzy ... you really should start peaking at WS. Start small and see how it trends. See what happens when you don't look and when you do. How often a player with an ugly WS ends up being successful.

Yet only plays 20mins because his defense is beyond awful and he very rarely makes the team better.

Jennings had a w/s48 of .138 in Detroit before he tore his ACL. No reason to think he can't back to that. That's such a better number than we've had from any PG in the last x amount of years.

Who do you think the Knicks should chase this summer?

the .138 was good but was it just an anomaly? Why are you not looking at his whole career? How about his afful defense? His mental makeup?

I like his mental makeup for NY. But that's just a "gut shot"

Who do you like? That is actively attainable and plays guard in the NBA

@crzydumps

nobody out there that I would overpay for or give a max contract (maybe maybe maybe derozen if phil coached at least home games)

I like Dellavadova for the right price, chalmers for cheap.

Jennings I would take a chance on at no more than 7-8 * 3 years.

Derozen because I will miss melo when he retires (seriously would consider him though I have issues with him)

Dewayne Wade - AND WHY NOT WADE? Don't think there would be a chance that he comes here at a reasonable and valued price.

Lets face it. Our options suck and we don't have picks because we are not philly ( for my crush). What we really need is for phil and gaines to find that hidden guy out there somewhere and they should look at the modern version of data that can help them. Shved?

Gotta think about the avail guards. I don't usually do that since its irrelevant what I think and zero chance of phil listening to me since Briggs already has his ear.

I can take the suggested or rumored player and state my opinion.

Last year I really wanted Cory Joseph but did phil?

so here is what phil is thinking ....

I'd overpay for Crabbe because I like to take risks on going talent. Maybe it's an flaw of mine.

Last year Briggs would've been right about Will Barton

Before last year, Shved never would've been on your radar using any analytics - he was 26 years old last season before he finally had a good season. Wroten may be able to break through.

Jennings is also only 26 now, same age as Shved, actually almost a year younger than Shved. Why can't he get back to the efficient player he was becoming in Detroit before his injury? Yes he's coming off an injury and maybe because of that, the Knicks can get a bit of a bargain on him. Maybe they get him for 3yr $30M - anything less than $10m per is unrealistic in a market where every team has $20M or MORE.

I'm votin' for Wroten and Jennings.

And I want a shooting guard who can shoot. Whether that's Bazemore or Batum or Crabbe or whoever.

DeRozan ain't leaving Toronto - he'll get a five year max from them. Wade is retiring in Miami. Gotta be realistic.

Jennings is ready to come to NY - I will stake my predicting rep on this. I will say that if he comes here he has like a 75% chance of being effective and considered a very good signing. Only guy I would have said that about last season is Rolo. I think Jennings would be a Rolo-level perfect addition for this team. I think he's the perfect match for Melo, personality wise. He's an inventive, creative PG, he can nail pull up jumpers, he's got the charisma for the market, he's wanted to play here forever. He's the most perfect free agent I can imagine for us this off-season. Not the best player, but Durant ain't coming, Conley has injury red flags and probably never wanted to leave Memphis anyway.

Speaking of Memphis, everyone made fun of me when I said chase Lance Stephenson. He's playing great for them. We can't get him now, because he's found his new home. We could've bought low last off-season. Buy low on Jennings now - he won't disappoint. I would be willing to stake whatever rep I have on that.

willing to stake your PREDICTING REP on this. over the INTERNET!!! ...lol. that line cracked me up for some reason

i dont think bjennings is a good player...even before his injury. now hes smarter but not as explosive. as a result of his damaged goods, i think he'll be available for the knicks can overpay ($15 range). i think he might actually be available for the knicks, nets, sixers and pretty much any team that needs a PG to get. the real question is if he wants to come to nyc. but i guess hes ready to come new york and youre willing to bet your predicting repping life on it. lol. i kid but i actually agree with you.

dont sleep on shelvin mack on utah. a combo guard who has finally learned how to SHOOT and lead a team. 25 yr old with something to prove

batum is a good player used to winning who wants to win more. therefore i cant picture him going to the knicks

crabbe and bazemore are good options at the SG spot

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

meh, that's based on another thread where mreinman keeps begging me to put a percentage on stuff and stake my rep on stuff. but i will on jennings.

i could actually see the Nets bidding the price waaaaay up there though for Jennings. Luckily, I think the Knicks are slightly more appealing than the Nets or Sixers in terms of having a winning team for once.

I like Mack okay. But in terms of having something to prove? I think Jennings is way up there.

Last year I really wanted Cory Joseph but did phil?

Jennings at 10 per is not awful awful but 75% chance? I will take that bet by friend.

how about wroten. Care to stick you neck out for that bricker?

so here is what phil is thinking ....
