Heh heh heh....

The Lakers have 3 max players, 5 HOFs... and have a worse record than the Knicks.

Thibs has zero starting level PGs, not much of a C rotation for most of the season, and has his team playing better than the Lakers. Take that for data

Lakers made the moves many fans and media wanted and pressured the Knicks to make.

I believe the Lakers would be in a much better position today if they handed the keys to Westbrook from day 1. Let him eat and have Bron and AD play off of him.

Westbrook has all the keys now and lays a -25 against the Mavs. Thank god he scored 25 points though.

Bronnie probably skipping the rest of the season now that he's out of the playoffs. Another fabulous GOAT move. LMAO

I think Bill Russell once said nothing short of a broken leg or broken back is a good enough excuse.

I would think he comes back to add points to the Kareem chase.
Bron is a lot of things but given his age and miles he is not a cupcake.
he is breaking down but when he plays he is doing it a high level. Its a team game, its not just him.

I love Bill Russell and those 11 chips out of 13 makes him the winning GOAT but he’ll tell you its 5 guys on the court. He’ll also tell you why the team game got them chips vs. Wilt.
Did we forget Lakers won a chip with Lebron?
Dude, you don’t have to like him but disrespect the career is a bit jaded. Given your MeloCentric nature and sensitivity I’d think you be past that.

And any look at the Celtics will tell you Russell made the other 4 guys better than they were. And certainly not by taking off games with a sprained ankle when you're on the cusp of missing the playoffs. Bill also owned up to the fact, several times as player/coach, "that the best player I got is me."

If LeQ is playing at that high a level, than why sit out? What does that say about your precious team concept?

I don't disrespect his career. I disrespect anyone spelling out LeQ as the GOAT with all the baggage that goes along with his resume. Russell played while breaking down. Jordan played through all sorts of ****, alot of it of his own doing. They would kill to win. They would kill your favorite pets to get into the playoffs. Okay, not really, but you get the point, hopefully.

Not quite sure what my stated Melove has to do with this conversation, but okay.

You find your reasons to hate on him. No, Lebron is not cut from the same cloth as Bill Russell nor had to face a fraction of what he had to.

You doing the Jordan thing? Jordan took nearly two years off. Lets not forget.
That team was great. In an era of post expansion diluted talent.
Lebron in his 19th year leading the league in scoriing. 38 years old. He has played hurt.
You may not like him, but thats not a reason to disrespect.
Jordan was a massive *******. I respect what he has done.
Bill Russell was incredible. IN fact makes Jordan look bad. 11 rings, No time off to play baseball and make a movie, Faced racism. Made others better, not bully them.
My rushmore has Him, Jordan, Lebron, Wilt and Kareem.
Personally I don’t love Lebron, but I won’t discount that he puts in the work and has carried teams further than most single players can. Different era’s, different men, different takes and different effects on the game.

Russell had Wilt and some very good teams to slap down.
Kareem came after and was unstoppable! His work on some bad teams should be noted. Epic battles with older Wilt and lakers, unseld, reed, ets. In the era of the big man he was incredible.
Jordan two three peats are incredible! He had Phil. He had Pippen. He has the legend. Bulls were head above the rest. They never had a formitable rival. Detroit aged out. The knicks came close. Sonics and Jazz were good but not close. Ali had Frazier. Celtics had Lakers. Many greats had rivals to match. Jordan and BUlls were great. To what extent?
Lebron had some incredible seaosns. Was miami really that good? Were they deep? No. Did they win 4 titles? No. Bosh was over rated and ray ray was at the end of his run. The hype was there but over rated. Lebron carried them.

Lebron took down 73 win Warriors. That should not be forgotten!

Like I originally stated, I'm not pissing on his entire career! Playing the game for 2 decades as a linebacker man among little boys has been frightening to watch sometimes. I can appreciate his achievements, the same as I do Jordan, the same as I do Iverson. To me, however, Bronnie's negatives are glaring. Which is the whole point of my original post. I also personally consider him a massive *******. His hypocrisy is probably overexposed in an era of tweets and insipid stupid quotes that not even Jordan had the mechanisms available at his time to deal with. I'm sure Russell had his warts as well, they just weren't emblazoned live in living color on every phone and screen for all to see and denigrate.

I find reasons to hate on him? As you said, you may not love him, but you sure do find reasons to love on him.
If you love someone, criticism on that someone can be hard to bear.

Then again, if he donned the blue and orange, my whole outlook would probably change.

I rarely bring him up or take joy in any players misery. I respect Lebron on the court. The decision? Awful. Some misguided quotes and egocentric stances over the years. But the kid grew up and he puts in the work. His charitable give back to Akron is admirable. Off the court he has been uneven. Jordan off the court was far worse. So far he has stayed in his marriage and publically ok there. Jordan far from it.
Russell been married a few times but old school stuff was kept out of the public eye.
Keeping it on the court, have nothing but respect.

this series was not a good on court look for james. 3rd leading scorer, against a less than great mavs team. the first time he bailed on cle (after a loss), then mia (after a loss), then cle (after a loss) -- do you think bill, bird, jordan, magic or even more modern guys like kobe would have bailed? they all have personal warts. i cant recall even guys who didnt win not going all out. there have been times it seems like hes given up or maybe hes just not the hyper competitive guy that those others were and may still be. that is not bad, it just puts him at a lower level than those other guys -- my take.

Leborn and his teams went to 8 straight finals. 10 over all. Does that not count?
only Russell and his teams can say that. Magic has a few dick moments in his career which was also quite shorter. And to his credit he played with like 4-5 HOF's players.
Can we speak of the other seasons Jordan did not reach the finals? Did any other player retire for the better part of two seasons? No. Bird bail? How many finals did he play in?
My point is Lebron gets no cred for taking teams much further than should have. In fact, to say he lost in finals is to penalize that?

Im not here to say Lebron is better than Jordan or not. All the players that are on Mt RUshmore have different measures of greatness. Did Jordan have a series like Lebron did in 2016 were they defeated a 73 win team? Is that fair? Not really, but it need be considered. Not all titles are equal.

ANy of those guys lead the league in scoring at age 38? Lebron is. Longevity matters.
Kobe bailed when his ego did not allow him to do othewise and he failed his team in a different way.
Did Bird bail or did he ever fail to live up to his standard?
DId Magic fail when his ego go in the way in years they did not reach the finals?

ALl these guys have different careers in different eras. One can find lots of reasons to dislike Lebron but I think we discount those trips to the finals as "Loser".

imo there’s one factor that changes forever the status of the all-time-greats: the death of len bias. he lives and imo you add 4 more titles to bird’s resume. that’s the best frontcourt that ever played - bird, bias, mchale, parish. plus you add one healthy 6th man of the year season of walton.

he takes heat cuz against his peers, he got beat several times in the finals. he also came up small in some of those moments when that elite level should shine and/or would leave a positive mark in folks memories. that mavs series was a surprise to me as i figured they would roll that team. they didnt even go 7, and he wasnt even playing the best on his own team. you bring up 2016, what happens if green doesnt get suspended? does that still go 7? you mention some of these other guys played with hof talent, does wade/bosh/allen/irving/love/davis count as getting to that level?

you mention finals totals, does robert horry count as a great then? not just getting to them, hes got 7 titles he can say he was a part of. kerr @ 5? rodman?

the logo and elg went to a lot of finals and only west got 1 out of it all. it doesnt diminish, it just means there were better teams and possibly players they couldnt get past. do most folks dont recall 2nd place in team sports and give them praise?

you bring up longevity, is that a function of his skill and/or the health care you can get now? elg career went south from the lame med care he got. birds back was toast, maybe modern med could have done nothing for that as well. magic and hiv.

i suspect the flopping he has done impacts folks views as well. knicks current coach had some fun things to say way back
https://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--bulls-mock-lebron-james-for-flopping--find-fuel-in-conspiracy-072116737.html
https://clutchpoints.com/lebron-james-flopping-history-everything-you-need-to-know/
seems unneeded times he has done this, and it just looks odd/bad to me. vlade james? tyson didnt make james go flying as far as nate robinson did.

if the knicks could have gotten the guy during his collusion run, i would have been glad. no way the fellow isnt an all time great, i just dont view him above bill, and a few others. i dont put jordan above bill. kareem maybe is close. you wont find too many guys who dominated at every level like those 2 (ncaa rule changes to try and combat them). bill last year in college, olympics, nba rookie -- all titles/gold. somehow doesnt got roy... thats another topic.

Perhaps some good news tonight - Washington, New Orleans, and San Antonio all won, giving the Knicks a little better chance of jumping up a draft position or two. I’m not a tank guy at all, but I’d take it. If we could do that and still beat the Nets that would be cool.

Randle and RJ have to take difficul shots because we have no point guard. It also doesn’t help neither guy gets calls the refs have been allowing both to get hacked all season

RJ is 21st in the league in FT attempted. Randle is 24th.
Knicks are 2nd in the league in FT attempted.

I was about to say RJ gets a fair bit of calls. He just needs to be consistent with his shot
