Thought this was an interesting thread. (Not singling out any one poster. Most posters in this thread were against drafting Frye. It's intersting how much the views have changed after a few preseason games.)

Hey, one good pre-season game doesn't make Frye the next superstar big man in the NBA. :)
He still has his work cut out for him. I think his foul issues are partially a result of him gaining upper-body strength relatively recently. I think it's thrown off his balance a little bit--- and his abs/lower body haven't fully adjusted. (kind of like Camby after he bulked up that summer)... Assuming he doesn't come down w/ any injuries, you should see him get better over the course of the season.

He's got the complete offensive package...

There are STILL other players I would have liked over Frye, but I am still very impressed with the guy. He's my new favorite player now that Houston is gone, but he still has a long ways to go.

shut up Bonn!

no just kidding LOL! hey bring it on I'm glad Frye is doing well. Thats all that matters to me now as a diehard Knick fan. The guy is smart and I like his maturity and work ethic. Most guys dont have it guys like Curry and JJ. Frye does and he should be highly respected for it! I thought my favorite Knick was going to be Curry but I've been a little disgusted with his conditioning. Hopefully it improves now that he is healthy. Then I though my favorite Knick was Lee but it has become apparent to me why Frye was the 1st one picked now. He will be our most reliable player outside of Marbury. We may actually win some games now with his consistency

I've watched Frye his whole career. With that said I would use a early second rouder on him at best

i thought he moved up at the end of this year. i agree with you, i thought he was early 2 late 1 until he really came on mid point. i thought he moved up well enough to go 13-17. He played tougher, he is nearly 7 feet and athletic with a beautiful stroke and an advanced post up game. He can block shots as well. Just seemed to be a serious underacheiver until late mid way this season.

Chris Kaman was projected a late 2004 2 and then pumped up into the lottery 2003 in about a month.

Just shows you the uncertainty with the big men in the draft, this draft is tough, very tough to figure out. I think when you do a final mock, you may have to go against the grain a bit.

Nate Robinson gets no respect. he will find his niche in this league and be a really succesfull player.

Nate will end up in round 1 for sure. Just because any particular draft website thinks he will be a 2nd rounder holds as much weight as anyone's opinion here, not much.

I will say Travis Diener and Michael Harris. I think they are both locks for the 2nd round. these guy are not even mentioned, nothing--but good players will get there and I think that these are two really good basketball players with a lot of heart and skill, and evenatually that will be recognized.

A lot of people like Nate, look at almsot every message board and you will see someone saying i want nate with my 2. I think he has a realistic chance to go from anywhere 17-30.

lets be real guys. Not trying to break stones, I realize this is a fluid market and opinions can change almost daily. But having mcCants Frye and Simien in the 2nd round is just flat out wrong. I dont know what you guys are looking at, I really don't.

Agreed, anyone from 20-40 on that mock could go anywhere in the draft IMO. It's still very early. I would like to hear who you think those three should be ranked ahead of, because obviously three other players will have to be 2nd rounders in their place.

Out of the top 30 I ranked
mcCants 15
Simien 16
Frye 19

Im not throwing anyone in or out, this is my own personal opinion. I think its a very fair and reasonable assessment. I could be wrong, but I think that these guys have locked themslves into the middle of the 1st round of the draft. If one slips, well that wont be the first time, but all three, NO:>)

Only a minute actually. Out of boredom last night, I clicked on "last" to see the last page of threads and saw this thread.

Sounds like Frye might be getting the starting nod from Larry.

Let's wait and see...If that is the case, this organization will benefit greatly from it. I hope that Frye comes out and earn his spot in the starting lineup tonight for sure...

In fact, we may get a pretty good idea tonight.

Marb, Crawf, Reezy, Frye, Curry may be our starting 5 for tonight's game.. He has yet to use this lineup, so why not tonight?

we shouldve taken Bynum--hired back Patrick to work with him--kept our draft picks and methodically moved forward over the next 3 years--if eddy curry comes cheap--great if not, well we have a C we are devloping for the next 15 years.
