Fish! I do agree with you. It is like I said in one of my threads, if we really want to win or build a team around Marburry, we should be able to give him the sort of coaches that he thinks will bring the best out of him. However, with Phil being out there, it will do nothing but cause us to make mistake at chosing

I'm starting to have 2nd thoughts about Flip. He's willing to play young guys and he's proven to be a good teaching coach in the league. He's also shown he's willing to bench a big $$ player in favor of a guy making cheese if it help the team's d or intensity.
I think guys like Ariza and possibly even Butler would really do well with a guy like Flip. This is also the only coach Marbury has ever played D for. If Isiah is serious about this draft and inject young talent into this roster than Flip is a good choice. Herb strikes me as afraid of having young guys make mistakes.

I hope thats what Phil said it will take for him to come in the interview! Maybe we can somehow trade Marbury for 2-3 1st round picks and have Phil teach them how to play! and all the while get major cap flexibility to sign actual star players!

I wonder what StumpBury's real trade value Is?

He must be married to a franchise player. Elton Brand? KG? Kobe? (HA-HA!) Jermaine O'neal? FatZach? (Franchise, or shall I say "FRANCHEESE?")

The key is "what team can he make better?"

Or can Isiah/phil bring in a player that Marbs will enhance?

Can they bring in that player with Marbury's $18mil per year and Houston's $20mil, I would say NO. You can't have 2 guys that are at least $10mil overpaid a piece and expect to come up with an impact player other than from the draft if a guy like Taft has a Amare/Bosh like impact.

And by the time H20's $20mil expires Marbury will be over 30 and at this rate playing 45mins a game during meaningless games he will break down as H20 did! So trade Marbury while you can and add an actual free agent star to the young core!

You better be trading him for Kobe and Shaq 5 years ago, or Jordan or Pippen 10 years ago. Other than that. I wouldn't let Phil Jackson dictate any roster move. He is a horrible talent evaluator (See everyone name Jerry for second opinion on this matter).

Marbury doesn't have the value to get those kind of players in return for or even a Bosh type. He might and I say MIGHT warrant 2 or 3 1st round picks.

No MO.

No Mo Cheeks.

I liked him as a player, and he is a class act, but my gut says he is just as good as Don Chaney.

Chaney looks pretty good after this last season!

The east was real powerhouse this year!

Never say Chaney did a good job, or that Laydens was anything but the source of our present problems!

Only article today was that Thomas is making a charade of the search and will only end up with Herb, and full control!

Time will tell. Time will tell.

I hope no more false Buzz again!

Instead of playing with us fans and the rest of the media, Isiah should stay at home some days trying to really build a plan on what to do in NY. Think about the identity your team should have, etc. Then, only then start looking for coaches and, if Herb pleases your plan, then keep him. But without a plan, Isiah has one year left before being fired. No plan, same results.

That article you mention, Nalod, had some good points, like the fact that Isiah has been looking at talent in his trades put not basketball savvy. We may have upgraded a little the talent we had before, but this players don't make up for a team. We need a team, and we have none yet...

Todays news has Earl, whom is opening a new seafood restaurant in Harlem by the way, thinks the knicks are right to chase phil, but thinks he is betteroff in lakerland with his pootie, and perhaps an ownership stake.

Jeannie will inherit the team, but wonder if Phil really wants to settle in LA and do that?

This is becoming a soap opera!

There's no way we get Phil or Flip. Isiah is going to be put in the position of having to give up the two picks we got for Nazr (30 this year and Spurs 2006) to pry Larry Brown from the Pistons.

It'll either be Larry or Herb. I honestly don't know why Larry would want to come here. Isiah is running a three ring circus, with nary an NBA player in any of the rings.

Didn't you want it to become one? There you have it!

Seriously, everything with NY xeems to be a show, nothing else. Even the team is fake. I hope someone in NY, if is Steph, Isiah, Herb, Dolan, I wish someone really wanted to build a winner in NY. For Isiah, everything seems to be a show...

Change starts from the top.
We need a new corporate climate around here and
it starts with Dolan. As long as he's the owner and allows
the no-rebuild, ever-sliding horizon of getting out
from under albatross contracts mentality, we will continue
this horrible pattern.

Fire Dolan!

PJ got real substance and experience. Even his negative past taught him much. Getting choked by spree in retrospect showed what a good coach he was, and what a self obsorbed SOB Spree is.

I wonder if he would want to deal with a GM who will try to control much, or will Isiah be a good GM and work WITH his new coach?

Man what about George Karl?

If they keep saying Dolan will open up his wallet - lets seem him pry a coach away from a team thats winning. Lets see him solidify the front line, and lets see this backcourt do some damage when its time to step it up for the playoffs.

Watching all these games is making me sick with envy because our beloved Knicks cant make the post season. Last year it was a sweep and this year its NADA. Man its been a long long road since Camby got injured. We should have kept that guy.

No bigs whatsoever on this squad. We are def in trouble until that need is fixed.
