I don’t know what the could give up though. Their assets are kinda bare!

Exactly. Unless he enjoyed hanging with Bam, paying less taxes, and beaches, they don’t seem like a deep playoff team unless Bam was really able to set lots of illegal screens all the way to finals, which with some refs is probably entirely possible

A deal centered around KAT going to PHO and Jalen Green going to MIL could work.

I would rather a deal with Phx where we could land Grayson Allen, Dillon Brooks and Nic Richards in return.

They all play both sides of the ball, would help out depth immensely and gives us more roster and financial flexibility.

My concern with Giannis is giving up more than KAT and he has a lot of miles and eventually the injuries will catch up with his play style IMO. I hope he went down to avoid trade chatter but the worst possible thing that could happen would be to trade for Giannis and then he tears his achilles (after the sometimes possible precursor calf strain). Realize KAT could do the same at any time but KAT doesn't explode the way Giannis does...

Not a bad thought but we need a Center after that trade.

Not worried about Heat. They would have to give up Herro, Adebayo + picks + assets.

Giannis Antetokounmpo

Myles Turner

Thanasis Antetokounmpo

Alex Antetokounmpo

Outgoing Players

Karl-Anthony Towns

Mitchell Robinson

Guerschon Yabusele

Pacome Dadiet

Tyler Kolek

Ariel Hukporti

Pick swaps (available) to 2028, Washington pick and multiple 2nds

Possibly add Diawara and McCuller

Turner
Giannis
OG
Bridges
Brunson

Deuce, Hart, Clarkson, Shamet, Diawara

Stagger Giannis and Turner at C or play small ball with OG there for spurts.

Bol Bol, Alex Len, Kai Jones, and Tristan Thompson are currently available (which means probably will take the minimum).

This is the meaning of all in.

This is probably the best deal I have seen yet. I would sign up for this any day of the week.

I think at this point you have to make Brunson and Bridges untouchable and any KAT trade has to include Towns. If we can mange to keep OG as well and still somehow get Giannis, that would be dynasty territory.

Ironically it would be the best thing for the NBA as a whole and would drive up viewership, engagement, ticket sales, and merch. Knicks are the only team that has a solid National fan base that shows up to almost every road game. There is so much untapped potential there that will never be fully realized without a Knicks championship.

Giannis bought a full condo building on the border of PLG/Flatbush. It would be a smoking gun if it wasn't such a great area for investment. Kudos to Giannis' real estate advisors

Good idea but I'd be a No on this. It's a depth thing. Even right now (Deuce/Shamet hurt), your depth would be Hart, Clarkson and ? Zero PG off bench too. Prime Thibs rotations of 38+ MPG for lots of dudes

And if a starter goes down for any length of time, especially at the bigs positions, you are really decimated.

Maybe this weekend will be more telling, but I like this Knicks team without Giannis, and unless you can get him straight up for Giannis with some extra guys that are not part of the main rotation while not emptying the future, I just don't understand the switch of Giannis for KAT while decimating the depth and pipeline of players.

Kolek, Huk, Mo are all on a Deuce timeline and will need another year or 2 but they are valuable potential depth pieces. TBD on Dadiet and Yabu and the rest.

Yea it almost has to be KAT & filler to be worth it.

OG I'm on the fence about, but I could see including in a 3 way with PHO that would get us back Brooks and or Allen.

What? Just think of all of the Anne Hathaway pics that OG enables, then you will know his worth

You make some great points Martin. Above all else we MUST avoid a repeat of the Carmelo trade.

Would hate to basically switch situations with the Bucks where we have to hope for some good maneuvering over next 2 years to be a complete team again.
It would be pointless to have Giannis with no depth or any way of actually winning and be capped out with no actual way of adding the necessary depth.

If leon was dead set on Giannis it would have been done by now.
Either the price is too high or we can't match what others might.
Milwaukee need only try to get a deal with knicks to say "they tried".
Kat was awesome last night. The block on Barnes might be a nice progress move showing results. Barnes put his shoulder in his chest and KAT stayed vertical.

len, Kai, and Bol Bol are unsigned for good reaons. They are not very good.
