1) if he were injured they would be sitting him
2) there is nothing in this offense that would upset Kat - hell we spent all of last year ignoring him for entire 1st quarters where Brunson got his and basically ignored Kat. Then just playing in the offense Kat put up 25/12 like nothing - if anything this offense plays more to his strengths.

He's sulking and not sure I blame him after big year last year and coming home to NY - then he gets word Knicks almost moved him during summer.

I agree. That’s definitely contributing to this. He was absolutely putrid last night worst game I have ever seen him play by far and what a coincidence it was at Milwaukee the team Rose is trying to trade him. And can we really blame KAt? NY >>>>>> Milwaukee

"That’s definitely contributing to this". LIke you are in his head and can speak for him? You said "definitely"!
Totally ingnoring daily reports he is "Questionable" given his quad issues?

And you know it was KAT vs. perhaps OG with other assets?

Now Im not saying in the aftermath Giannis is cool with staying, or Leon did not offer him up but KAT been in the League 10 years and understands the ramifications that if you take max money, you are making a choice of freedom vs. multigenerational wealth.
I get that perhaps you might feel so dispondent portraying how you'd handle such a thing that sulking would be your go to move, but give hiim at least the benefit of thought. Is that not an option?

KAT can simply exercise his right to suggest a trade to milwaukee would insure he is not going to extend with them and would ride out until he is a free agent and all the risks that come with that. Thats his right. Otherwise he makes his own choice otherwise.

Also to be considered is KAT involved in a three way say with PHX to he might be amicable to landing there? Or Perhaps Miami does a thing with BAM where he is moved to MIlwaukee and KAT to South Beach? Other considerations of course but as core pieces.

Me personally and also based on M Browns post-game comments- I don’t believe an injury is the issue.

At a minimum he’s sulking about play style and at worst he’s got wind of real trade rumors and is trying to play like ass.

Not a ridiculous assertion

it is a top shelf ridiculous assertion. One of the more ridiculous things suggested here. That's wild. A guy cant have a sketchy stretch without him thinking he's going to quit on his teammates and game he loves cause phuck it they might trade me? Really? We got Jet fans talking about what's ridiculous

A stars never had their feelings hurt and sulked (brought the team down because of it) - ok.

Every year trade deadline rumors impact dozens of players - in this case the rumors were highly specific and Kat’s contract one of only ways to match Giannis - yes he’s sulking.

Here’s another conspiracy theory.

Knicks played Mitch 18 minutes in Dubai to show some team (Bucks???) that he’s healthy and now he’s been put on ice until December when full trade can go down.

Just throwing stuff at the wall but Mitch deal is ODD because why did he play 18 minutes in Dubai if plan was to load manage heavily to point of zero playing time thus far.

You guys just hate Towns because Rose traded DDV and Randle for him. You need any excuse to crap all over him. 2 wins away from our first finals appearance in 25 years and now the sky is falling because he had 1 lousy regular season game.

And ofcourse what a coincidence the game was against the team the Team President is trying to trade him to.

Randle is gone and he will never win a ring. Never ever. Nevah evah.

No it’s like this insane conspiracy theory like flat earth that a player who knows there are all these rumors of him being traded to another team has a dropoff in performance because the rumors are affecting him. It’s like space aliens.

I was actually a Randle hater and think Kat is a much more efficient scorer who doesn't need the ball.

I have major problems with Kat's D, his rim protection, his empty drives and his incoherent TO's and fouls.

Above said - I've been a KAT guy. All I'm saying is that he's got his panties in a wad because he thinks Knicks either will move or him or would move him for Giannis. It's only natural for someone to have a reaction when the whole NBA world knows Kat's name was tossed around in those talks.

I certainly didn't want to lose Donte and I also have always believed Knicks could have traded for Kat to re-trade him for bigger target.

The stupidest part is that KAT should be the largest beneficiary of a Mike Brown offense. I’d guess Brown is just working on the passing and offball movement before initiating offense through KAT in the high post. But in a very Sabonis-like manner, we should be able to see the floor spread around KAT and trust him to make the right play to get guys going down hill to the hoop or an open 3.

I’d truly think he’d be more likely to be featured in this offense with Brunson reprising a role as Step Curry with screens and other action to get him open.

This seems a lot like growing pains as they transition without really seeing the big picture.

In short, KAT needs to put his big boy pants on and prove he can be the heliocentric center to an efficient offense

Kat is a big stretch 4.. bottom line! Start Hukporti at C till Mitch is back or trade for another true center to set screens & roll to the basket. Would even try starting Yabusele at the 5

Right on 1st sentence and Kat’s got plenty of great open looks he’s clanked thus far.

My position (based on his, Brown, Brunson) comments is that it’s not injury or the offense —- just don’t think his heads on straight.

I think again last night he made some excuses about having to adjust —- adjust to what shooting wide open 3s?

One thing I could see that could piss Kat off is if Brown has told him to cut out the drives from the 3 point line - which in many cases is a net negative trip down the court with Kat landing on the ground.

First 25 mins or so of this is a really good level setting on KAT from my favorite analysts.

I honestly believe and I think the numbers support that we aren't forcing bad 3s. We are generating a lot of good looks and if we are changing our style I think it's fair to skew to higher. The encouraging thing is the amount of good looks. The shooting has been bad - and that's discouraging, but to me that's a high variance thing that will even out. And there will be some games where if we get the these looks we will put up 130-140 pts and annihilate some teams.

Btw in some respect KAL is KAT and KAT is KAL now. KAT was a natural fit first half last year who made every shot. Kal was uncomfortable and bricked everything. They have swapped roles.

Meanwhile Brunson can score in any system - and he isn't really hitting at a high rate from 3 yet.
