I should not get attached to anyone new during Summer league right? I doubt we have much if any cap space to sign anyone.

Well we have to sign one guy to a 2nd round/rookie minimum - so your chance to get attached to Nnaji, Diawara or Pate. And then from the group of McCullar, Watson, Beauchamp and everyone else, you're rooting for a guy who might take the last vet min spot or a 2 way contract.

What I'm most eager to see in Summer League. I think Pacome can force his way into the rotation this year, brings an offensive versatility we just don't get from our other wings.

All preconceived notions on the rotation out the window with the coaching change, but I think Huk was already slated to be in, and Kolek probably another year of marinating on the bench. Tough to see him cracking in with JB, Deuce, Clarkson, and whoever our final vet min winds up being.

I'm excited to see the kids.

And I think you got it right. The Knicks do have enough current firepower off the bench with Clarkson and Yabu signings, Knicks got a year of breathing room on the young crew. And if the young kids do somehow show out, the Knicks FO move into a different territory of trade maneuvers.

Deuce is on one of the best contracts around for a playoff team. But Deuce is also on a contract that could likely explode - and that may just mean into the MLE range at ~$15M per starting in 2027-28. And that would be straight into second apron considering their starters. So the development of the young kids could expiate his trade timeline cause of the overlapping skill sets.

Pac vs Deuce is a potential battle to look out for. Especially if they go Mitch & Towns in the starting lineup over Deuce.

We have a long summer to go before camp. These guys are working out and sometimes thats more of a statement than a SL game vs. other neophytes.
I don't know if I think or feel anything to what Dadiet can or cannot do but agree they will all have a fresh look and opportunity to demonstrate what they can do over the summer and then into camp.

Good teams get better when young inexpensive assets vie for a spot on the rotation. Either as trade assets or forcing FO to trade a vet it only helps.
Not that I want Josh out by any stretch but if beaten out we are better off. Nothing new here an dit applies to all NBA teams! Just something we have not been accustomed to over the last two decades.

Calls are kinda soft for a summer league game.

I like Scuca's (pronounced Shuka) aggressiveness.

Not sure if that is a legit list of guys but based on watching many years of Summer League that list of guys looks like a TON OF BRICKS going to be showering down on us in Vegas.

Probably some great dunks, passes but I suspect lots of bricks will be flying.

My initial projections turned out to be spot on ---- though TONS OF BRICKS was more like TONS OF T.O.'s -- seemed like Kolek may have had 20 at one point but box score says (5).

Have to say Pacome looks VERY SMOOTH and his quickness looked much improved vs very sluggish last year. VERY SMOOTH.

Pistons got SO MANY lucky bounces that turned into 3's or dunks I stopped counting and refs allowed them to hack/whack all game long BUT they deservedly KILLED US.

Will say that our 5 key guys Kolek, McCullar, Huck, Dadiet and Diawara look like they belong to a degree - Beauchamp looked ok but small.

Diawara looked ok physically - he moved well, defended and had some nice passes -- looks like he understands how to play.

The rest of our squad from Scuka to Dink, to Nnaji, to Biwali, to Yudai, to Anton --- look like complete garbage.

Summer league is such a **** show with guys hacking, collisions, bricks and just typically a messy, messy game that's it's really hard to judge some guys (didn't stop me) in this environment.

Most encouraging thing to me was Pacome looking to have very high skills and size for kid who turns 20 later this month.
