Felt like we saw our top 6 in the best version of themselves, shooting a lot of threes and not being overly unselfish. It wasn’t smooth all game but it was progress to say the least.

Would you trade Mitch for a Duncan Robinson type PF/SF. Assuming Huk and Simms meet expectation. Or is Matt Ryan on that level ?

Matt shot like 43 to 45% from 3 last season so if you just want a shooter he should be good enough for what we can afford.

From all the pounding he did to Bam and Jimmy.

The good news. I can see even more room for improvement as Jalen becomes more comfortable juggling playmaking/scoring duties. The uncomfortable part, seeing Deuce as the lone bench scorer.

Totally. I’m always surprised at how many passing opportunities Brunson misses or recognizes late. Weird that he is not a more instinctive passer.

Is it that he's simply unable to see the opportunities, or that he's just too focused on getting an open shot for himself?

I'd be very happy if, during the regular season, Jalen averaged about 20PPG with 7/8 APG during the year & got Bridges and OG more open looks, as well as KAT.

Doesn't mean he can't be more aggressive during the playoffs.

My thinking is we get this going mid season and trade Mitch by the deadline for pick(s) or prospect. We need cap breathing room.
If we are on a path to win 60 and kicking ass then I keep him and hold him for another year.

If someone makes an offer we can't refuse, you do it. Can we win a chip in two year window with Mitch in a role other than starting? Sure.
If he is unhappy and wants to walk after next year, then lets hope he kicks ass and shows the world he is worth 120mm over 3 years!!!!!
"Oh but he'll walk"..........Maybe, but we got a chip? We need good players on good contracts. He is one.
if the culture and schematic is in place we might get a player the is bought out for the playoffs? Love to have Bojan back!

If by Duncan Robinson, you mean a combo forward who can soak up minutes, it depends. For example, Duncan Robinson is owed another $29M after this season and I don't think he's that good. I'd rather keep Mitch. Now, if it's Mitch for Herb Jones then hell yeah. But, the NOP would likely say no. Would Deuce move the needle? I think so, but is that fair value? The new CBA makes things tricky and I'm not sure how many options the Knicks have at this point.

Absent an offer we can’t refuse we should keep Mitch. We will need size for certain key playoff level opponents eg cavs 76ers probably Giannis

And it’s worth an experiment against the celts whether that size will give us enough extra possessions

Boston is the exact team Mitch struggles against: mobile stretch 5's. That's his Kryptonite.

So, can the Knicks impose THEIR will and style on Boston. TBD.

Stats from a game where 1 player shot 75% from the field might skew the sample set a tiny bit.

You know I gonna spin wit it
