Playoff performance matters. Bogey gives up a weapon in spot minutes. And he was adjusting to his role late in the year. He’s exactly what this team needed and was well worth moving an injured and poor attitude grimes for. Grimes will get his opportunities in an empty gym in Detroit with a bunch of young guys now. But this Knicks team is aiming for something different.

Also Grimes should have taken some notes from Deuce. Deuce can not play, play spot minutes, or play 48 mins and he won’t complain. He keeps working and figures out different ways to impact a game. He shot horrible last night but made big plays when it mattered. 2 games of high impact in different ways. This is how a young player contributes to a winning team.

For this year Thibs did not trust Grimes and Evan needed to be moved. The price was Grimes. In return we got some insurance in Burkes if DDV needed time or was hurt and Bogy who we needed given Randle was cooked.
Grimes came into the season with high expectations. He still might be a very good player and perhaps we lose the context of the moment when that happens and Bojan is retired? But for now, it solved what we needed this year.

Bojan Bogdanovic is a very good player. Maybe hurt a little and but that dude is a wild shooter and we just saw how he can impact a game where he was 0-4 in first half, 2-7 overall but hit 2 huge shots and turned game momentum around.

He is lightening in a bottle. Hope he has the legs left next couple of years.

Wonder if he will take less this coming year if he extends for 2 friendly years extra. We shall see.
