That second unit looked really strong in the preseason. They all play defense and have better passing( backdoor cuts look great)jHart has incredible chemistry with DDV. Don't want to break that up. I feel that our second unit got an incredible upgrade. It's going to be a big problem for most teams , even more than the previous season(s). Besides, we can have Simms if there some PF that would overpower iHart

They looked ok on highlights with a few plays here and there. Overall the bench didn't outscore their opponents unless I am mistaken. The preseason is the preseason but I saw enough to be concerned. Simms has no place as a rotation 4 at this time. He is a third string center. Plus it's not only Hart getting overmatched physically it's also him not being able to contest a shot from a taller player who takes his three points shots. Hart can close out hard all he wants but his arms aren't long enough to impact a shooters release. Plus Harts greatest value was guarding the opponents best wing and now he won't be. I understand the optimism of fandom and how that colors how you see a team. Too old for that myself I have to see the team with sober eyes. Can't see us right now being much better then a 46 win team. We will win some and lose some but don't see us as presently constructed to be a threat to replicate last off-season. Also don't see this front office making a major trade. Look at the trades we have made last three years. A tweak or two is all I can envision just hope those trades come sooner rather then later

Knicks don't play fast enough to have an undersized PF. So yes, I think we need a real option at backup
