The Portis elbow to Grimes's neck was unbelievable. Grimes lost the call because he didn't crumple to the floor like Giannis did when Randle forearmed him to the ribs.

I agree with the sentiment Fournier shouldn't have played as much, but just go back on this board (would be easier with a search feature), and see how many people bitched about having an 8 man rotation. This is why he wasn't playing. He gave up more than he contributed points wise.

And I'm not talking about you, just your comment. There were a lot of armchair coaches screaming about getting Fournier time because an 8 man rotation couldn't handle the minutes. So there you go. You got Evan and Ingles and Allen look like Larry Bird and Mark Price in the 4th.

I would have rather seen McBride get those minutes even though he isn’t necessarily an offensive threat.

Absolutely correct. IMO. This team's success is based on defense not offense. All their successful trends can be tied to defensive trends.

But then again, they would then go from a 9 man rotation to an 8 man rotation in that case and these fragile professional athletes apparently can't handle that, according to some.

This. Like I said to Martin, the Knicks success is tied to defensive trends. Possibly upgrading (a guy with Jae Crowder's skill set would be great) the bench pieces so they aren't so specialized outside of Quick is probably a must if they are trying to win this year.

N0-NO .. Randle playing the entire first quarter and 3rd quarter in each of those games gave a tired exhausted Randle in the 4th quarter missing FT and consecutive turnovers for a Knicks loss.
Tonight, Randle collapsed in the 3rd quarter after playing 28 minutes committing two consecutive turnovers, Randle shouldve been yanked off the court for Obi Toppin to play the final 4 minutes when the Knicks had a 14 point lead. Letting Randle stay on court to play the final 4 minutes of the 3rd quarter let the Bucks go on 18-8 run to end the quarter. Giving the Bucks confidence to outscore the Knicks in the 4th quarter 38-29.
Having Randle on the court going down the stretch the final 5 minutes of the game was a nightmare of Randle still thinking only Randle & Barrett (now Bronson) are supposed to do all the scoring going down the stretch. Brunson came through scoring the Knicks final 15 points. Quickley was hot all game but wasn't given the ball to take a shot the final 7 min of the game.
The Knicks bench players were never included in the Knicks offense tonight.

The Knicks bench won't have any offense until Quickley goes back to it. The bench is filled with one dimensional role players (other than Quickley developing the way he is). McBride, Fournier, Obi are a mismatch of flawed players whose roles don't fit. McBride is a defensive sub currently not a top notch back up PG. Obi (welcome back) and Jericho need someone to help them score. Rose isn't playing for a reason (he may be hurt?). Fournier is a shooter who you can only play one one side of the ball.

If there was any mistake Thibs made, I think it is when Quickley moved up to starting Rose should have moved up to Quickley's spot. Fournier should be used in spot minutes or when you need a 3. But who knows why Rose isn't playing so I can't say it's even a mistake.

This team NEEDS to learn to close games. Whether by hook or by crook, they need a killer instinct to keep pressure on and whether that is a veteran player, coaching, or some other means they nee to keep teams under their heel when they are up. It shouldn't have anything to do with being tired, and if it does this whole team and training staff needs to be gutted.
