We saw Thibs go with the second unit and they did not look great. Cam is playing for his life on a bad ankle. That drive in first half were he collapsed? Look like it gave out. But he has to play for his career now. Not looking good. Grimes comes back he is out of the rotation?

Indy guarded Brunson. They doubled him. He did not play great but thats gonna happen.
Shooting? First road game? team was just off? Obi was not a super hero we hyped him to be.
RJ was solid. Mitch was solid on the boards. Randle had good first half. 5 assists.

This team is picked to contend for play in. I know you guys. Raise your hopes, get frustrated, then call for Thibs head. If the second unit is not all its hyped up then some of our darling players are not living up to their expectations. Maybe. our ceiling is not that high?

Indy played good defense. We got beat. Preseason rotations.

Our 1st unit is so dang clunky I’m sorry - very slow sluggish NBA starting unit.

They did look fine the 1st 2 games so there’s that but I fall asleep watching that group.

First unit played well except for Brunson. RJ, Randle and MR had the best +/-. So there is that. Brunson rarely set anyone up and got into bad positions. Seemed to be affected by full court pressure. Which made him work harder and affected his shooting. EF started well but then took some bad shots. Randle played well. Did a couple of nice hand offs. RJ was off from three. MR was really active on boards.

Second unit was dominated by IQs over shooting. 18 SHOTS! 22%. Reason for losa. Rose should fix that. IQ thinking he is Lou Williams out there. Needs to get a bit of last year's PG back. Do not think he would have stayed in there if it was regular season. Problem was also that NO ONE else on that second unit can shoot. Hart seems to be able to but does not look for his shot. Obi once again had great dunks but still had bad outside shots. Deuce looked like he did not belong. Cam was never in the flow and was not good. Grimes will help with our 2nd units shooting and we will be fine.
Overall nothing to go nuts about.

Why didnt Keels play? If we struggle this year we can once again look at Thibs refusal to play young guys and develop them when needed.

Keels did not play because he is trash. I will only fight for young players to play if they show me something. I have yet to see anything good from him yet. Grimes, Quick, Sims and Obi have all shown flashes.

Cam is in the same boat with me as Keels. The only thing that changes the equation with him is we have limited time to see what we have in him due to his contract. I did not like the trade at the time and I hate it even more now that I have gotten a good look at what Cam is. The major red flag should have been why was the Hawks so open to trading him if he was any good. They were struggling to get even a low 1st for him until out dumb butts came along. Now they used our 1st to help them trade for Dejounte and become even better while we have to watch Cam throw up low quality shots and get lucky to actually make one every 10 misses.

Don’t get to mad. The way things are looking that 1st is going to be a bunch of seconds because the Hornets are not good.
