Interesting way to view RJ's inefficient numbers. I am not saying I agree or disagree. I am posting this because its a new view on things that I never took into consideration before.

What's the gist here? I can't open Twitter in China.

RJ's excuse for not throwing love passes to Mitch is that he knows Mitch will get the offensive rebound anyway.

Cool! I have been saying that for a while. Great minds my friends, great minds.

What I liked about Randle this past game was that he didn't settle for midrange jumpshots. He put a lot of pressure on his opponent by putting the ball on the floor and working his way to the basket. I liked that his teammates were giving him space but moving off the ball to keep a passing lane as he worked. The off the ball movement looked a bit better this game.

I think Hart changes the second unit dramatically. That additional floor spacing is valuable. IQ's layup in the 2nd quarter is a rotation failure by Detroit, but with a 7 foot center at the top of the key, that's a hard rotation to make. Could see Hart pressing Robinson for minutes in the starting rotation eventually.

Good post. It seems like Randle gets better shots when he's moving towards the basket rather than away from it. I also really liked that drive where he drew in the baseline defender and then dished to Brunson for a 3. Since much of the NBA has gone smaller at the 4 there should be more opportunities for Randle to use his size to his advantage.

This was what I was envisioning when I mentioned the off the ball movement keeping the passing lane open. I also credit Brunson on that for moving in a manner that created that opening for an outlet as the defense collapsed on Randle. On the broken play where they doubled Randle at the top of the key, Barrett broke to the basket instead of back and got an easy layup when his man jumped to Randle. Those quick moves feel like some offensive strategy is taking hold. A team with this conditioning, commitment to defense and a spread/motion offense is going to make some waves. I know I am getting a little crazy over a pre-season game against a perennially bad team, but its the changes to the game style that are exciting me, not the win over the Pistons.

I love the statement that Randle gets better shots when moving to the basket. Copyright that. It is so true and so valuable.

Can’t understand why media complains about not hearing from Leon when they have access to a basketball guy who just sits there and talks

Sorry! What to do? Sit back and enjoy the functionality of it! Then get mad at something else?

True!!!

Fact is when Leon speaks media complains. His output is very measured. At the end of the day Thibs tells you what he thinks and as far as on the court matters, that's the real content.

Hopefully this means he is good to go. He is the final piece to the puzzle.
