I admire the work ethic and the dedication to the game. he wants to play. he works hard. He is a robot freak focused on his craft. I admire that and his game. But he did not capture the heart of the city. Lebron would have despite his diva moments. He has a joy about the game. Durant is a machine. Kyrie is not my problem so he,, like the rest of the nets don’t rent space in my head. I feel bad for the ownwer, Nash, and Sean Marks who seem to put in the time but the lot of Harden, Kyrie, simmons and Durant have no joy to bring. Would not blame Nash if he walked.
But Im not talking **** about Nets becuase they have assets to undo and still perhaps come out ok.
fact is we migth improve and they meet us to become worthy rival at long last. Playing meaningful games.
They were not relevant except for last season. They were one toe away from beating the Bucks in a game, no, as series went Durant was amazing. A true virtuoso performance. He knew he could not succeed in overtime so he took it and nailed the shot. Thing was he was one toe short. The game was tied. They lost in overtime. The laid it all out.
Im sorry that most of you can’t as a fan see the beauty of that. All without Kyrie. I respected that team last seaosn. Nash, the vets and Durant. It did not carry over because they did not have the soul of a team. It was something to build on. Too bad Kyrie could not see that. He is exceptional talent and a good universal citizen with good intentions. The money corrupts him quest. Thus he is lost. He is not a ball player first and foremost. Again, I can respect that but his relevancy is as a ball player. So he is nothing to me, and not in my head. I don’t wish him harm, or the Nets.
They are like the other 29 teams not the knicks.
I get the part about KD being 33, and the implications. Dont get the "no soul". I've been taken aback by some of the career decisions, he's made. But he's also very passionate, maybe too passionate at times. Not the kind of person I would label as "souless". Maybe a "get off my lawn", old soul, lol. In the way he goes after online critics.
Durant knows his career clock is ticking. If he came to NY, I doubt that he would squander the opportunity to win a chip', on a team which would be remembered as his.
Kyrie built a team, then blew it up with his covid drama. KD appears to have reached his limit.
Knows Kyrie could drive them into a ditch, without warning.
