Seen this interesting take on the Randle situation. I have not thought enough about it to say if I agree or not but it is an interesting take.

I'd be more pissed if I got exposed in the playoffs only to prepare in the off-season and get exposed again the following season. BTW, Evan Fournier is rounding into the movement shooter they envisioned when he signed. Anyway, this isn't much of an excuse for the poor shooting percentages, inconsistent defense and bad turnovers.

It's all about perspective. I'm sure this is pretty close to what Randle is thinking. Regardless of how he feels he is being treated by the media and fans, how does this excuse him from being a ****ty teammate?

Exactly. As bad as Kemba has been, he hasn't caught nearly as much fan ire as Randle. You know why? He shut up, accepted responsibility and still displayed positive energy on and off the court.

He also wasn’t about to start a 4 year $117 million extension

Begley saying there were teams interested in Randle at the trade deadline, seeing him as a contributor in a somewhat different role than on the Knicks. Also makes clear his contract isn't a bad one, particularly as the cap rises over the next few years.

I hope he’s right. I’d take a bag of balls to get rid of Randle’s contract right now

That’s because you are making things up using only emotional thoughts and feeling and ignoring reality.

Even with a down year, his AAV is a top tier value among other forwards. This is his value against his performance. Guys on rookie contracts that perform will always outperform, but Randle’s contract is good. It’s a top tier value. He is worth every penny the Knicks pay him.

The dump him for nothing complaints are just silly. It’s one thing to move on intelligently, it’s another to use emotional pleas as the basis for bad decisions.

Katz from the Athletic shared the same sentiment that Randle's deal will make it hard to move him for value in the off-season on the KFS podcast. I respect both Katz and Begley as far as being two of the better Knicks beat guys we have, but I'm hoping Begley is right on this one. But it's definitely not silly to question his contract's value after the season he had. Dive deeper than the counting stats and you'll find a guy who should be making less.

Anyone else watching 'Winning Time' on HBO about the 1980s Lakers? Kareem's attitude in the locker room is probably how Randle is in the locker room.

Yeah, they make Kareem out to be a major ass. You can get away with it when you're a HOFer.

Last offseason the Front office gambled on signing an injury riddled Kemba walker, if there is an opportunity to trade for Anthony Davis should the front office be interested? Can a package that includes Randle be possible? What can that package be? Can it be Randle, Mitch and a 1st for AD hoping for a healthy AD next year considering he barely played this year?

Is a starting line up of this can make the playoffs next year?

Anthony davis
Obi
RJ
Grimes or Cam
IQ or Brunson if they can sign him.
