Man its gonna be nice to have a clutch shot maker on this team. No more Randle looking lost one on one. Kemba is ice for these types of moments and has been known to deliver at MSG. Lets go!

I'm not a UConn fan but I am an MSG fan. Kemba shone bright at MSG, especially at UConn. That must've been a real treat for you
Uconn has been my sports savior. Mets Jets Knicks Rangers fan. As a few guys here know I played football at Uconn and Im friends/friendly with many older Uconn players. Ive met Kemba several times--hes a guy everyone loves.

I see your list and I see a lot of pain.. I’m Yankees/Giants and that has worked..

I really miss the Big East tournament and wish college football didn’t kill it

So are we confirmed on the Kemba contract numbers or are we still waiting on the particulars. It makes sense that he gets the remaining 8mm we get since Rose uses the early bird rights, but could he in theory also be signed for Room exception or veteran min leaving us with more space or is that not possible?

As a person who really wanted Lonzo I can still pivot and also be happy with the direction we went. Both Kemba and Rose have some injury concerns but guess what? We have IQ, McBride and Luca to cover that. My only concern now is our center position. If we have 2 injuries to bigs like last year and Sims is not ready to fill in we might have problems. Taj did fill in during that period very well so it might not be that big of an issue.

I'd kinda rather have Lonzo Ball instead of Rose & Walker. Ball is 23 and will be peak in his next couple years.

Walker/Rose, we need to pray they stay healthy and don't slow down too much.

Kemba Walker is an Atlanta nightmare and a Trae Young killer.

Trae Young is 1-4 All-Time against Kemba Walker head to head.

Kemba went 3-1 against Trae Young as a Charlotte PG and 1-1 against Trae Young as a Boston PG.

Kemba Walker is 4-1 All-Time (.800%) vs. Trae Young.

Trae Young can not guard Kemba Walker and Trae Young can't beat KEMBA WALKER either.

(We're much better than Atlanta with both of Kemba Walker and Mitchell Robinson @ PG/Center).

That same cheseburger you grab from a fastfood joint looks a whole lot better off the dollar menu than it does from Gordon Ramsey's restaurant for $20.

If it is the exact same cheeseburger that was about to be served at Gordon Ramsey, but is now being re-heated and served a week later? There is a reason why Kemba costs three times less now. If he is half of what he used to be, is he that much better than Elf? Halve Kemba's stats from the last couple of years and you get Elf's stats. With better shooting, but worse defense.

Anyway, Kemba is probably the best addition out of all the options we have had this off-season. Though I would have still liked for us to take a flyer on Dipo for cheap.

I dunno. This board is prone to hyperbole. But a player at $40mm + trade assets (as you proposed) is different than $8mm of cap space. If you liked him at 40mm, why aren’t you happier now?

Deep down we all know that Brad Steven’s commitment to Kemba was a reason they faltered last season. He wasn’t his full self last year. And we are hoping that this year’s version is a bit healthier and a step quicker.

The roster was missing a PG that can penetrate the paint. Kemba will help there. We are still missing a Center that can contribute on offense.

There may be a move still coming to address that. I think that is the reason why you see them asking about Myles Turner.

I was a loudly outspoken critic of Kanter when he was he was here at 20mm per, but he might make a nice addition to the roster now if we end up needing some offense from the center position. If we freed up a roster spot via trade, he would be a decent use of the Room exception. Not sure what other offense oriented centers are out there.

Coincidentally, Kanter's going to Boston.

Funny. I missed that as I was typing this. Still think we need a C with some offense.

You know I gonna spin wit it

Not me man. I was absolutely in love with Lonzo Ball because of potential too but Kemba Walker is a player I never expected to become an option and he's a proven PG at 31 (same age as Damian Lillard) and a 4x proven PG too. 2016-2017-2018-2019 All-Star and also averaged 20 points and 5 assists last year which are All-Star PG numbers.

The only difference? We didn't have to trade away Immanuel Quickley, R.J. Barrett, Obi Toppin and Mitchell Robinson + multiple 1st round picks while selling the farm for Kemba Walker as we would've had to do for Damian Lillard. Kemba Walker is also 10x more SCRAPPY on Defense than Dame Lillard is (atrocious D).

I'm not concerned about Kemba staying healthy @ 31 either because A.) He's got Julius Randle and R.J. Barrett and now Evan Fournier to help carry the load along with Derrick Rose banking him up.

This is an A+ addition to our starved PG position.

Mitchell Robinson is going to become an ALL-STAR because of Kemba Walker too.

Bro, hypocrisy is thy name.

Bro, do not pin your reading comprehension issues on me. Both Kemba and Dipo are injury concerns, I just feel that there is a bigger upside in a fully recovered Dipo than Kemba if the price is the same.

Saved the off-season? We upgraded significantly at wing with Fournier and maintained depth. Also got the steal of the nba draft in grimes

Kemba at reasonable years and money is a solid move. Rose/IQ probably start 25-30 games at PG next season

This makes me happy. Very, very, happy.
Props for us being able to get the guy. And as another said, perhaps there is a Fournier connection (and they will both be starting.)

I think if Fournier and Rose split minutes, neither getting 35-40, we will be better off and they will stay healthier.
I just want to see enough minutes for Deuce is my caveat.

What's your deal man? We're getting him on the cheap. After all the speculation about trading for Sexton or signing Lowry, we got a former All Star for 8 million, who's a New York kid. Maybe the irrational pessimism works for you in other endeavors but it sounds like you'd rather be right than have the team hit a home run. I don't get it.

Oladipo is nowhere near what he was a few years ago for the pacers. I’d rather have Fournier and Burks

Yes neither is Kemba but at least he plays PG. and Kemba at 50%>>>>>>>> Elf at 100%
