He’s been our best closer since as long as I can remember. He’s tough and plays both ends. He’s a winner and our fan base is trying to give him away practically.
How could they NOT trade him? We’re not building anything this season - we have the 4th worst record in the whole league! Why not trade him for a 1st rounder and then have a handshake agreement to sign him in the offseason? He’s probably happy too because he gets to play in the playoffs.
Well what if we had coach Miller all season (with his own training camp) instead of Fizdale and his failosophies. Do you think this is still the 4th worst roster?
Not sure how that’s the least bit relevant. The point is that we’re not making the playoffs so why not get something for Morris and and bring him back next year? The added benefit is it also opens up playing time for the younger guys (and I hate to say it but we’ll lose more games and get a better draft pick).
I guess where we part ways is where you say its a given we can re-sign him after trading him to a better team. You're willing to risk that we lose him and be paid for that risk with a first round pick. I say he is worth more than that.
He’s a FA either way (not a given we keep him if he stays). If we want to keep him, then make a handshake agreement that we’ll sign him in the offseason. He’ll probably appreciate it that he gets to play for a contender in the playoffs.
.
If you heard Millers press conference tonight you would know how important Morris is to the development of the young guys and how they feel about him on and off the court.
There no way on in hell the knicks trade him, especially after what I heard tonight
