Is it too late to bring in a new coaching staff, or if Fiz is tired, will the Knicks have to rely on one of the assistants?
Heres our cast: Keith Smart, Kaleb Canales, Jud Buechler, Pat Sullivan, Royal Ivey, Mike Miller
I do think that there is subpar coaching going on. No idea why there is also not the same notion that the players are playing like **** too.Chicken and egg. I gotta guess that the coaching staff has harped on Mitch not to do the stupid fouls. He seemed to get the message at the end of last season. What happened? Is that on coaching staff or Mitch?
Do we think that the coaching staff is NOT telling Randle to dibble into a double and triple team? Or do the spin maneuver that is almost a guaranteed TO?
Morris usually plays the full first quarter and I was happy to see Fiz take him out early when he missed an assignment or 2 about halfway in to the quarter.
It's good that Knox gets the quick hook right? He misses waaaayyyy too much on D. Simple stuff too
I think everything that you mentioned is all about coaching.Mitch elevating his overall play last season was due to DeAndre Jordan. That is good coaching. We don't have that now. Taj who is great doesn't play the same way and it seems Mitch is not taking to him
Randle is easy to fix. Bench his ass if he keeps doing it. He will fall in line really fast.
Morris I am ok with.
Knox is getting the right coaching. Why can't they do the same with Randle?
I like the idea of benching Randle, but for who? Portis? Portis makes MORE mistakes than Randle, so you would need to bench then Portis for Randle? Or are you suggesting bench Randle, move Morris to the PF and bring in Knox who is already being benched for poor play. Who?
You can go a couple of different ways. I wouldn't for Portis. Portis job right now is perfect. Instant offense on the 4 or 5 spot against 2nd stringers.
I would try Knox first and move Morris to the 4 spot. Knox kills me with his defense though and he would have a short leash to make sure he understands he needs to do better on defense.
We can also try Dotson or Trier at the 2 guard. Then move RJ to the 3 spot and Morris to the 4 spot. Trier would also get a short leash if he doesn't move the ball.
I would keep DSJr backing up Frank. He needs time to get his game up to speed. Breen said it in the telecast last night. DSJr was drafted in the lottery because he was an attacking PG. He needs to get back to that. However, Fizdale and his stupid offense stops him from doing this. I hate that ****ing 3 man weave hand off at the top of the key going east and west ****.
The player that I was hoping to see is Reggie Bullock. If he ever gets healthy, plugging him in the 3 spot and moving Morris to the 4 spot would do wonders. He is a 3 and D type player in the Ariza mold.
