Pathetic defense.
Really bad.
I just can't understand why their effort is so bad on defense.

We need some changes. It starts with Melo. So long as Melo approaches the game how he does, which is offense first slow on defense the rest of the team will follow.

We may still pull this one out because Orlando is in a back to back and may cool off.

I don't know how many games we need to see of the same poor effort from Melo/Rose before we realize that we need changes to the starting 5.

How big a hole does Hornachek want to dig before he makes some changes.

There's only one way to solve the slow rotations and awareness. You move players up a spot so they don't have a speed disadvantage. Lee goes to 3. Rose to 2. Melo to 4. Jennings comes in at 1. Now they have speed for the kind of offense and tempo they are trying to play.

This team will be no better than mediocre without playing any semblance of consistent defense.

Exactly what Pelicans did and it's paying dividends. Though Melo may not want to play the 4

And since Noah doesn't for all his effort make enough of an impact overall for our defense I simply play OQuinn who is the better player on offense.

We need to play more pressure defense, not worried about being blown by. Right now 3 point shooting is more troubling than giving up layups. Play hard man up defence and do not let your man get easy open jumpshots.


Look at Rose he can drive at will but teams don't worry. Right now the league is all about 3 point shooting and point guards going off. Contain the 3 point shooters and worry less abou layups. Trust your defensive anchors more.

This team is a bad defensive team when KP plays. KP is one of the leading rim protectors in the league. They are an atrocious defensive team without KP.
