No...they were ready. Had plenty of days off, and prepared for this matchup. It's our starting 5 thats the real problem. Too many slow foot players on the floor at one time. Pretty much the entire starting 5 have slow feet.....So their reaction time on defense is going to be slow......and they have nobody in the starting 5 that can create his own shot or penetrate. So the offense will struggle and the defense will struggle, against most NBA teams. This has been a glaring issue since day one.....But it's going to take more slow starts like today b4 Fisher makes any changes.

The starters have played better than that before. It was mostly about missing most of their shots. If they made their shots it wouldn't have been such a big lead.

It's always the athletic matchups that gives up problems. The less athletic a starting 5 is, the better we look....And our shots go down, becasue of slower defense against us. So it's always matchups. My issue is majority of the NBA starting lineups have more athletes and speed than us....So for the most part, we have been and continue to dig ourselves out of a hole. Take out one of the slow players and install a quicker player, we would have better starts overall.

You are spot on. I have been crying for a month now to change the starting lineup. It's too slow and unathletic and we are always falling behind early in games, but Fish's stubbornness and lack of creativity prevents this from happening.

Answer this one question. Do you think you know more about the game of basketball than D.Fisher??

Yes...BUT that's not saying much.

Is it really Fisher's experience, or is it Fisher using Phils strategy? Because Phil was a stubborn coach, who rarely made numerous lineup changes or changes to the starting unit. Phil also let his players play through the other teams mini runs. The problem is we don't have the IQ or skill set Phil had with the Bulls or Lakers. But this is why Phil hired Fisher....He knew Fisher didn't mind being a carbon copy of Phils coaching style. And using Fisher as a scapegoat to instill his triangle culture, using role players.....

nyknickzingis wrote:If you look at it, being down 5 or 15 the main difference is that start. It's mental. I don't think the starting 5 seems to get their game going quick enough on most nights. You need more energy or whatever you want to call it. I think even changing Affalo for Thomas may help. Anything, just to get the team some more life and energy. You take away the slow start, and this is a more typical game.

The back ups did get it down to 10 and when the starters came back the lead ballooned to 17 and now that have made another run.

Thomas looks good with the starting 5 in place of Afflalo. Maybe bring AA off the bench, give them a go to scorer outside of DWill. Something needs to be done starting 5 way too slow.

Nice response though. Really cut into the deficit.

Well at least i now know you're not a honest person. That's too bad. The truth is the obvious answer but you couldn't do it.

No thank Melo was hitting his shots. Without Melo, our starting 5 will always start in a hole. KP hasn't learned how to be aggressive next to Melo yet. But it can't be all on Melo's shoulders....otherwise, we will see Iso Melo for the rest of the year.
