Small baseketballs is just your typical keyboard warrior with an axe to the grind. Harmless.

Ummmmm, that was gunsewing's point. It seems his attempt at wry humor escaped you.

I too am aware I'm just words of a screen. The idea that anyone is trying to be 'intimidating' on the internet is a manufactured conceit.

This is all vapor. No one - on my end or yours - should be taking it seriously.

Indeed, doesn't prevent us, however, from saying you're fixated ChuckBuck, and as far as I can tell, seem mostly aimless and never actually seem to have a point.

I have an oral fixation on Melo, he's so tasty and gooey on the inside!

Clearly, so why are you fixated on Melo? Why is your entire Knicks fandom boiled down to an issue you have no power to affect.

I'm not keyboard warrior as we agree. So you don't have to be the guy who shrugs off any fair, genuine question with a poor attempt at humor.

What is the point of it all? Man up, say something earnest. I'm genuinely interested.

When it comes to Melo, there is no happiness, only pain and sorrow. Truly despicable human being. Can't cheer for that clown. His whole mannerism and game grates me.

Okay, but you can't affect his role on the team or what sort of person he is. So why give him the power and wallow in it? You're not affecting him, you're just infecting yourself, and making every genuine effort to go to war with your follow Knicks fan over it.

If character counts, you aren't exactly distinguishing yourself from him. You're in fact, emulating him.

You believe he's a drag on the team. This forum is telling you quit clearly you're a drag on it.

You seem oblivious to the irony.

That's fair question.

Yes it is.

I'm glad at the very least that this is proving Melo is no Kobe when it comes to preventing player development. Melo has done nothing but prove to help it, as credit is given unsolicited by KP each interview. But why believe him? It doesn't fit the agenda at all smh.

Or maybe KP is a good dude, and doesn't want to ruffle any feathers while he's still the rookie on the team.

Next year will be a different story, as it'll be KP's team.

Yes it will be KP's team, no question. But if KP is saying Melo is like a big brother to him, is helping him by taking pressure off of him, etc, there is absolutely no reason to believe KP really hates playing with Melo and is playing nice just to not rock the boat. That is just you praying there is something there to support your theory when there clearly isn't. Just accept you are wrong about this whole thing, and KP actually likes Melo and enjoys playing with him, and move on. Maybe someday things will change and you will be right, but not today. You are wrong, and that's ok. But looking for something that isn't there only makes it worse.

The issue isn't KP's explanation of it. The issue is KP'd quite obvious development. Again, whatever opinion one may have shouldn't prevent them from acknowledging Porzingis is developing rapidly with Melo as the team alpha dog. That legitimately speaks to some of the more damming criticisms of him.

Wouldn't that be fair to say?

And as I mentioned in the thread you started yesterday that got zero attention because of this problem. Next year is a long ways away. I for one also hope KP is the better player that is ready to be the team's center of gravity.

But we have a LONG way to go until then. That you can't even manage to wish for a better result THIS year speaks volumes. You clearly prefer that Melo is struggling with his shot.

Which btw, almost certainly makes you different from KP. You admire him so much, follow his lead.

KP has become the Alpha dog already as evidenced by his higher win shares over the rapidly declining Melo.

It's not a long way to go, it's already happened. Only difference is one makes 124million.

I was responding to YOUR claim that NEXT year it'l be KP's team. You're pretty bad off when you can't even manage being agreed with.

Next year will officially be KP's team. Even though KP is the better player already NOW, he's ceding team leadership to the lame duck veteran Melo, him being the rookie and all.

KP is better now, better offensively, defensively, higher BBall IQ. He's just being politically correct and not trying to make waves...yet.

Porzingis is playing better, but that isn't the definition of alpha dog. Melo is still recognized as the team leader. He leads in minutes and shots and the ball goes through him.

This is exactly the area you need to distinguish between reality and your preference. There is nothing wrong anl everything right with having your valid preference and believing KP is the better player and at the same time recognizing how this team is structured.

Your fixation is so absolute, you jump through hoops just not to acknowledge quite obvious facts and try to spin them.

Melo is the team leader and alpha dog. KP would be first to agree. KP is playing better right now and is quite obviously the future alpha dog, probably sooner than anyone anticipated… just not right now.

There is no reason a rational person whatever his preferences should be denying this.

KP win shares per 48 = .155
Melo win shares per 48 = .129

KP is the alpha TODAY. That is reality. No fixation, just truth.

so grant, galloway, and dwill are all shooting poorly because of melo, and KP gets open looks because of calderon, not melo..hmmm..hilarious

def not melo. He can possibly help teammates a bit more getting them the ball when he is doubled.

Yeah because the 8 assist coming from your forward is not enough, he needs to avg 10.

Your number one scoring option is avg 18 attempts a game, far less than any other number #1 scoring option in the league..what fckng more do you want...Is that all you got

Is Melo averaging 8 assists? Is he even averaging half of that?

He had 8 last night. He was leading the team in assists earlier in the year but is now second on the team behind Jose.

He has also had zero on at least one game - he is averaging 3.1 I think. The poster was asking why his assists are being criticized and sited the one game where he had 8 assists. A little too much cherry picking.
For a guy who touches the ball almost every possession, and apparently always gets double teamed - he should average around 5 a game especially when KP is shooting lights out and Affalo is playing well. His shooting is inconsistent and he is doing nothing else particularly well.

His defense has been well above average according to most tracking sites.

When you have a leg injury, I know because I had a major one, the jump shot is one of the last things to come back. You don't realize how much leg strength you take for granted on jumpers. I think it may take til like March, but his shot will come back.

Same. Had ACL, back in seven months but not really, more like 18-24 months to feel fuly back especially in basketball where recovery of vertical power is as important as horizontal power. It takes time to get your spring back. Some days your knee and spring feels there, other days it doesnt and it is very frustrating because you simply cannot do the things you want. Think this is a underlying issue that frustrates Melo as much as anything. My perspective is that he is working hard while hindered while others see some dog, I see him trying to win while others see a selfish chucker , I see him being a good teammate while others see a self absorbed diva. I think my perspective is closer to the truth

Can't argue with someone who just makes up their own definitions.

Btw, you've made it quite apparent you have no answer for why you choose to be who you'd describe as the Melo of this forum.

Don't cherry pick.

I could see a situation that when Melos contract runs out he resigns for a cheap deal being an older player. And us having a pretty loaded team.

Or maybe KP is a good dude, and doesn't want to ruffle any feathers while he's still the rookie on the team.

Next year will be a different story, as it'll be KP's team.

Again, you choose to rebut me agreeing with you…

But you said Melo is the Alpha this year, I'm in total disagreement with that statement. Pretty much all logical and true Knicks fan know this a false statement. KP has surpassed him already.

There is no reason a rational person whatever is preferences should be denying this.

KP win shares per 48 = .155
Melo win shares per 48 = .129

KP is the alpha TODAY. That is reality. No fixation, just truth.

Thank you, come again!

Can't argue with someone who just makes up their own definitions.

Btw, you've made it quite apparent you have no answer for why you choose to be who you'd describe as the Melo of this forum.

Don't cherry pick.

Hey, I didn't make up the defacto statistic for measuring a player's effectiveness on the court!? I mean KP is better than Melo. Sucks for your argument.

Blame Bill James.

As I say, when you can't even handle being agreed with, something is amiss.

My reality is actually is in line with most logical Knicks fans. Most acknowledge what they are witnessing before they very own eyes.

If you guys can't accept that KP is better than Melo NOW, then I don't know what to tell you. It's the truth and hard cold fact. Numbers back this up. League perception back this up. KP just isn't that dude to rock the boat at 20 years of age.
