You kinda need two stars to win in this league.

It is not a bad thing.

Try to not say something bad about Melo. If you can't. You are just hating. You don't have to say something nice. But it's weak after winning 4 in a row seeing "Melo should have sat" or "Melo didn't pass enough" b

Keep it up. The ignore list is growing.

Go Knicks. Boo haters.

melo haters and melo lovers are equally annoying. I just try to be objective. He played well last night but played poorly tonight...its that simple

He didn't play poorly. If any other Knick had his game he'd be called out for a nice contribution.

14 and 6 doesn't grow on trees in the NBA.

There may well indeed be Melo lovers. But there is a third category as well. They're in the "can you really not let Melo go 15 mins after a road win?' camp.

It was a tough summer for that third category of posters. A lot if really good posters have left the board because of all the bashing. Hopefully they start to come back.
we have good posters on this board. I dont think its as bad as you make it out to be

Have to disagree. There were some brutal threads over the summer. And guys have come back that used to post here and have stated why they don't post anymore.

there are brutal threads on EVERY site. You have to have thicker skin. For the most part we have good posters. Personally i like posters who are more objective and will point out issues, weaknesses, small criticisms etc.. however they are still loyal knick fans

I promise not to start another thread with the exact same theme if I get called out for what I am posting from now on. That will be my first step for growing a thicker skin.

But seriously, you can disagree with posting based on assumptions and speculations a d bring it back up when it turns out that the speculations and assumptions were wrong right? I was totally wrong about the Bargs trade. You had it right on day 1. I hate Bargs now but I was very wrong at the time of the trade.

WOW Crush can you be any more smug and disingenuous?

Some of those posters are coming back by the way. Which proves its not the posters but the team and positive results like I've been telling people like you who refuse and reject facts and make makeup subjective excuses instead. You're still denying that Melo needed to change his ways which has been a major goal since Phil and this staff has take over or you still think Melo has no help and should shoot every shot like he past 5yrs playing right into the defenses hands instead of moving the ball? Allowing the ball to fInd energy as MDA used to say in other words allow the offense to start to flow by keeping everyone on their toes & involved in their roles? Are you ok with Melo's slow but steady progression as a team player? Doing the little things needed to win like sticking to the offense and moving the ball when doubled team especially in the 4th quarter where even when we was moving the ball when needed all game he'd revert to iso and then blame his teammates for not being more aggressive. When we've been subjected to this ISO ball for 5yrs? How about the way he is working his A$$ off on defense despite his lack of lateral quickness and other shortcomings? Well he has started to do the things that championship players do even Kobe who is the most selfish prick one court we are 8-6. Could be 11-3 if these things got through to Melo earlier by credit Fisher and I'm sure Phil was in tune with this, for doing everything he could to get through to Melo including going to the media to express the importance of moving the ball for the full 48mins and even naming Melo at times whereas in the past especially with Woodson it was always someone else's fault. Whether it was Tyson, Shumpert etc.

I am loving what I am seeing from this organization from top to bottom. I'm shocked Phil has been able to change our culture this fast after some major blunders like the Tyson trade and overpaying Melo which hurt us in free agency. But that happens and if you luck out and strike gold in the draft like we did by actively scouting a potential cornerstone franchise player like KP, those mistakes are erased very quickly

my thread was different. It was about how good they can be on the court together. Melo doing a good job drawing defenders to him and dishing it to KP. But hey like you said im so critical of melo

Which is exactly what I attempted to point out to Chuck earlier.

It's time.

ok ... lets say just a star or whatever level. He needs to move the ball and not think of himself as the first option every time he touches it.

After tonight, melo is about his career avg for assists. Not the great new improved melo that everyone is gaga about.

He may becoming the highest paid decoy of all time.

Again, after KP has arguably his best game as pro in a win… what are you and Chuck fixated on…

Point made.

tickled pink tonight ... talking about the bigger picture.

No you aren't. You're relitigating a game already played and won.

You said it yourself, he's AVERAGING around his career figures. Which means tonight's 0 has no predictive value for the next game or any other game. He's gonna have his 5s and his 4s and his 3s and 2s etc…

You're fixating over something that doesn't represent his game, because what's most interesting to you in a road game won is a poor showing in one or two statistical categories.

Not big picture - micro picture, of a successful team outing now in the past.

that is not interesting to me tonight, its what I care about every game. If he has a good passing, I call it out too. I am fixating on melo's passing and have been for too long.

every season I go into it with new hope that this is going to be the year that Melo realizes what he needs to get to the next level and becomes the unselfish player that we need him to be.

I am a jilted fan what can I say.

Not all this.

You seem to phase in and out of being very reasonable.

Surely you can see the Melo vs. Porzingis dynamic that gets so much run around here is utterly and strangely irrelevant.

I have not been part of the him vs. KP stuff

I consistently ride melo for not passing and will do it after every game that he doesn't.

Right, because that'll help.

help? How are you helping?

I'm not.

I'm having an exchange with someone I can communicate with directly.

You're "riding Melo" from afar and he'll never hear it. Hence, the inability to get past it.

True. We should all stop praising him too.

I am looking for group therapy to deal with my dissapointment

Be flip all you want. You aren't "riding Melo", you're very consciously looking to pick fights with your fellow fans over the same exact topic even in the light of what would have been a very surprising win just a couple of weeks ago.

Perception is reality. You and Chuck are being called out on it by several posters. I'm new enough to notice it immediately.

Melo is not going to change as a player. All YOU'RE doing is defiantly looking to repeat the same dynamic here night in and night out.

Knicks as a team HAVE changed. Good things are occurring. A couple of us are stuck in the past 4 years.

There's no disputing this.

On Saturday, Anthony was hampered by foul trouble. He finished with 14 points on 5-for-10 shooting. But don't let the low point total fool you. When he was on the floor, Anthony occupied defenders well and served as a decoy of sorts for the Knicks. He didn’t force many shots or overdribble -- two sins he has committed in the past.

New York outscored Houston by seven in Anthony’s 25 minutes. He was also active late in the game. He hit a 3-point shot with 2:17 to play to break a 95-95 tie and scored on a strong post move with :39 seconds to put New York up by three. (His basket with :39 seconds to go was on a goaltend.)

Porzingis had the monster night. Especially the 7 blocks to go along with yet another double double
you guys are so brainwashed to hate this player your not even aware of it. EVERYTHING involving Melo is a dick measuring contest.

Typical Melo dick measuring wank-a-thon aside, great thread. These two players clearly like and appreciate each other. They have dual inside outside games that allow either to expose a weakness on the floor and really attack it. Would anyone be suprised to see KP score ten points in a 3 minute stretch because he's got a 6-7 player on him? Or Melo to do the same?

The other gem here are the complimentary role players. Rolo next to KP is a wall of length, and where KP may be rookie and perhaps timid when it comes to physical play... Hard fouls etc, ROLO will not. Calderon is shooting well as I hoped and Galloway kills it, so we are really supporting this duo well.

Nice topic. I'm loving this team.
