Of course this story is true there is no doubt about it. A few msg employees come on a message board and post something contrary is a waste of time-- no one is stupid.

This constantly gets overlooked. As long as we don't hold onto him until he breaks down and becomes untradeable it's great that we have him at least as an asset.

I believe this is anti Knick Media driven crap! Certain guys in the media have a bias against the Knicks management and are notorious for stirring up trouble and negativity. It's a problem that makes FA's scared of NY.
The media is out of control IMO.

Pools comment was great. Now he'll get calls from teams and can say he is not shopping Melo. But he can tell Melo teams are inquiring so if he is interested..........

Could be posturing as Melo can't look like he wants out as it would make him look bad. Brand image too important. I doubt Phil cares if he looks like the bad guy.

Agree. Maybe I should have gotten behind the greek kid that used to post here that was trying to get him fired. Isola is awful and for some reason he is the national sports media mouth piece/expert about the Knicks. Real fans know he has no sources and there is tremendous animosity between Frank and the Knicks. He is constantly attacking Phil, the Knicks and trying to be provocative.

If Melo didnt call up SAS--this is no issue. He gave Isola a nuclear bomb--thats not Isola's fault.

Melo is in Las Vegas. No way he calls up Frank. Frank doesn't have sources. He is persona non grata at msg. He may have called Tim on the way out and got a comment that he turned into a story but even that is stretch.

Actually Briggs said Melo called SAS but if i remember right i don't think that's true and i think what was said was the someone close to Melo is who SAS talked to which is MUCH different than speaking to Melo himself.

He didnt call Frank--didnt need to. Carmelo called up Steven A Smith who then proceeded to embarrass Phil Jackson Jim Dolan and the entire MSG organization. Isola simply took that information and ran with it. If Carmelo was cool--none of this would've happened. I was a fan of Carmelo although I didnt like the trade that got him here. Hes a good player but boy what a diva and non leader he is.


Melo called SAS?? I'm pretty sure the way i heard it was SAS spoke to people close to Melo but don't know for sure.

All you've heard is what we've all heard from a couple of shock jocks who make their livings off of getting their names our there with reporting crap about the Knicks. I'm not saying it's not true because i just like you have no idea but to go off of what two guys like SAS and Isola say is.............

Well said and i agree 100%. I believe it all could of started with the smallest comment about the Porzingiz pick and someone close to Melo saying something about it and SAS and Isola just blowing it up into something it never was.

Ok so here's a different take from Melo today that makes me feel a little better -- now saying he "can't wait" to see Porzingis and calling him "a steal."

Hopefully this is legit and from his heart and not some PR-fueled damage control. If I were Melo, I'd be on the phone congratulating this kid and welcoming him to the team. That's all he needs to worry about doing or saying. Team chemistry and support for one another is beyond important.
