I understand. It makes sense that you can only get better when you're the worst, but that doesn't mean the organization will prosper one bit. Excuse me if I remain pessimistic. This organization routinely overcommits to the wrong people and grinds what talent it has into the dust. Then players leave and prosper elsewhere.

Phil is lost. He's shot his wad on triangle BS already and he's going to keep going down that wormhole? Fisher at $25M for 5 years was insane. Bad trades, yadda yadda, not an organization on the upswing. I don't expect them to get it all right all of a sudden because they have a pick and some cap space now.

You're a fan. I'm only picking on Nix because I got really fed up with the lies. This guy fooled everyone here into believing they are a legit fan. They were once, but they are the one on this board who is truly on the dark side, not me. I'm merely negative. They are truly duplicitous. He's not what he pretends to be. He's hustling for Dolan. You are not. Big difference.

Are you on drugs?

No. A basic ability to discern who is lucid in their thought and speech is not everyone's strong suit. Most are easily manipulated due to their inability to distinguish the fundamental difference between having a point of view and having an agenda.

You can identify most suckers by how they tell people with a negative outlook they have an agenda. It shows they can't make clear distinctions.

Most suckers hate discussions of motive. They claim you can't prove anything, that is all subjective. So when someone is on the right track about motive it is usually discredited by the majority who fear the possibility of it being true.

I was very clear about Melo's motives. Even if some still can't handle the truth, I think my assertions that Character = Destiny were prophetic when stacked up against the lame, angry rebuttals by the Melo defenders.

I was very clear about Phil being a sellout who sold his soul to Dolan for $60M. Nothing has deterred me from this assertion in the meantime.

And I'm being very clear that Nix is not just pushing a blindly optimistic point of view. He is agenda driven to the extreme and he is pushing the corporate agenda. He is no longer a super fan. He just plays one on UK.

Speaking of Melo, why are you posting? He's still on the team.

To expose this BS.

You mean to accuse Nix of being an MSG plant? Well, I'm not in the habit of just calling people crazy so do you have any proof? And I mean proof about the MSG plant part. Just talking about Nix's posts will only prove that, at best, he's incredibly optimistic.
Yeah this is pretty extreme especially from a guy that has 'intervened'as a peacemaker in the past and asked other posters to keep things civil. Nix has been here forever. He is the eternal optimist. Not sure when opposing view points became bad but he hasn't changed and usually has reasons to back up his optimism.

I just want to know where to pick up my Jimmie shekels. I'm sick and tired of defending Melonoma for free! I want my rights! I demand equality with the negative side! I want to be financially enabled so that I can also attain true insight and rise to the level of a an open-minded, corporate monger-hating, socialist insider so I can help bring down the Man!

Power to the people! Jimmie will hoist himself on his own guitar strings! You read it here first!

And you're now very clearly at some other end of bipolarism, because what used to be a funny, inventive poster is now a whining beeyatch with some sort of marxist axe to grind.

Are you the victim of some corporate buy out or something? Did your Mutual Fund get defrauded by some venture capitalist scheme? Why so suddenly bitter and vindictive?

I know 10 wins is hard to digest, but we're all still Knick fans, right? Right?

27 million is exactly 10% less than 30 million. That does not qualify as almost 30 million here in realism land.
Please adjust your signature accordingly, you gooey eyed, gushing optimist.

Also, please add: Phil is almost 80 years old, Melo is practically retired, and Early is about 7 years away from being a serviceable bench player.

We've seen way worse! I just don't get it.....

From day one we all knew every single player on the roster was not going to be here in 2015.... so why is there so much anger about or record? Phil got rid of all the complainers, trouble makers and underachievers....

right now we have a skeleton roster.... everything is setting up the draft and free agency. We're going to get a top 4 pick. We can sign whoever wants to come here.

We have a coach in place. We're running a system that players can see what we're trying to do here. So there's no guessing game.

Why so hostile and angry? I just don't get it. The sky is the limit in my opinion. We're set up to do nothing but improve no matter what happens.

because it's like men who have bad experiences with women, and become misogynistic. I think a lot of people have been burned so many times, that they have become conditioned to expect the worse. Any move they don't like, they don't just get angry at that one move in the present, but rather it activates all that historical anger over all the other dumb moves we've made.

I feel okay about this season, I'm looking forward to the pick and seeing who we can score in FA.

Nope, because I had realistic expectations. Sure I hoped we'd have a good season, but I knew Phil didn't have anything to work with, and was constrained by past mistakes. No pick in 2016 was a killer- it meant we couldn't rebuild slowly through the draft.

Would you honestly have preferred us to win 30 odd games? Our only shot at a star player is drafting one. Being awful this season makes that a possibility.

Just manage your expectations- people are already setting Phil up to fail this offseason if/ when he doesn't land any stars. In reality very few players are actually going to be available, certainly no stars. Is that Phil's fault? Nope, but he'll get blasted for it.

So we really couldn't get anything for Shump and JR??..Really??..Did we really have to take back Calderon in Chandler's deal??..Are GM's salivating when the phone rings and it's a 212 area code??

Players value is what it is- JR had negative value , everyone said we wouldn't be able to shift his contract. Shump was worth a second rounder or late first (although we couldn't even get that last season) and was injured. They had no value at the time of trade. Now their value has increase (JR still wouldn't be popular with other GMs) Shump is a free agent- they still wouldn't fetch much.

Phil said he sat on that decision for a long time because he didn't like that we weren't getting anything back, but decided to do it because the risk was holding onto them and having them get injured before the deadline. Remember last year when we held on to Shump and he got injured at the trade deadline and killed any chances of trading him? Would you have liked being stuck with JRs $6mil on the cap?

Did you blast the Tyson trade at the time?

Personally I think Phil dump JR and Shump to buy Fish some time...Fish was being booed in January...I thought we could have gotten more for them and Tyson..

We should have gotten more, but THEIR PLAY is what drove their price down. Felton was eating his way out of the league with a gun charge. Tyson a guy with an injury prone career coming off a season where every # was down and he only played 55 games.

Hopefully Timmy lights it up so we can finally trade high this offseason

In regards to the Tyson trade it was kinda the wrong place at the wrong time kind of deal. Tyson's value went way down in his last year here. Now i knew Tyson would flourish in Dallas because he played his best ball there and he was most comfortable there. Unfortunetly Dallas had all the leverage because Tyson played horrible his last year in New York. However i still dont understand what Phil was thinking taking Calderon's contract.

He was probably thinking Gasol, not going to happen now, but it seemed a reasonable idea at the time

Calderon will play better if we get some good players. He's had a terrible year, but he's a better player than this.

Jose is actually pretty much the player he's always been. Just that when you have no talent it exposes his limitations, but on a good team he helps keep the flow of the offense going and there is a benefit to that for a team. The main dip has come in his midrange game which has normally been very efficient. The assists is about the talent around him. It's not about his age. Players like him can do what he's been doing for a very long time. He's having to try and do too much on this team, where normally he can be a facilitator and score in situations where no one is really paying attention to him.

He's had a terrible year, but he's a better player than this.
i dont totally agree. Keep in mind he is getting old. Lets be honest other that 3 point shooting he doesnt bring much especially now

It doesn't pay very well. It's been outsourced. You have to bid against the guys in India, Eastern Europe and Malaysia. They charge a penny for every 10 shill posts. Also, MSG has been working on an artificial intelligence program to automate the shill posts across all the Knicks boards on the 'net. (So far it doesn't do as good a job as human posters, but it has the potential to churn out thousands of shill posts every hour, 24/7.)

https:// It's not so hard.

Not easy to move his contract might as well keep him as a back up. Really he needs to take a couple more 3's a game to make his minutes more worthwhile. He's shooting 42% on 3's and really needs to be a bit more selfish from 3p range. I'm not bothered by his contract at this point. We have enough money to add a few good Free Agents regardless of his contract being on the books.
