Amare doesn't deserve props

He deserves to go play for the Sacramento Kings imo

we should "prop" him up (trade value) so that he can be traded to the kings.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

he was ok.

does that make up for his defense and lack of rebounding? we were getting crushed on the boards. Don't know for sure but I am assuming that this is why fisher did not play him more.

leading the team in rebounds primarily coming off the bench..the same player they said can't rebound. Thats not to say I wouldn't take greg monroe at this point in his career (and keep amare on the cheap side).

If hate amare just say so,

Are you saying that he is a good rebounder?

did you ever think that you are just blindly defending?

If love amare just say so.

He's average. Call it what it is. He's also played his most of career next to a great rebounder. Only reason I mentioned anything after last nights game is what is the point of playing the whole roster if your not riding the guys playing well?? When Amare is scoring and boarding ride him for 30+ minutes. If he's stumbling and bumbling give someone else a chance.

I always say play the hot hand but we need to see the context of the game. Maybe he was hitting shots but killing the flow? Defense? Don't know but you need players to fit into the whole scheme.

He did rip one HUGE rebound at the end of the game which was a MANS rebound.

His defense as usual was brutal.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

Amare battled last night I'll give him that. He's still a hack. He's got to battle every night. Still too much stumbling and bumbling

That's it.

Hack. He's a hack. Perfect word.

He's paid max cat money and he is a hack, basically incompetent at things JV players master.

His remaining defenders sure do love the little he is good at. That's sweet, because he sucks at almost everything else he does.

As dumb as he is, he still fools some dummys that they actually defend him like Tariq Aziz defended Saddam until the bitter end.

+8 just call it what it is. Calling him the 2nd best scorer on the team isnt defending him. Just pointing out the obvious.

You cry if your labeled a hater. Saying the guy can still help this team gets you called a defender. Time for more puppets I think.

Knicks need this guy on the floor.

Id rather have Dalembart on the floor so he can give me 3 points on 1-5 shooting and 6 rebounds 2 blocks and a clogged lane as he sits in there.

The problem I'm having with the amare bashers that keep killing him (it's now down to just his defensive flaws) is that every single player on the roster is flawed bog time..1 thru 15...if amare is terrible, then the entire roster is absolute horrible.

That's true when you consider Melo would be the only starter on many clubs.

Other than the possibility players like Acy, Wear and Cole develop further and can be retained cheap as bench players, the only 3 players I'm actually interested in seeing how they pan out are Shump, THJ & Early (and Thannasis in Westchester).

I include Shump because I have not given up on him and think he may turn it around and be a valuable player. Then he may be called a quality starter if he performs on both ends this season.

And THJ & Early are not guaranteed to starter quality, though I'm pretty sure Timmy will stick in the league with at least 6th man potential.

Its not a talent laden club, so yeah Amare is not the downfall at this point. The club is not in contention this year and then he's gone. The talent level and cohesion has been lacking for a while. Amare is an expensive rental at this point, flaws or not.

8 rebounds in 22 minutes is not bad. Given 30 he gets double digit.

yes. 8 rebounds in 22 minutes is a solid game.

to be fair, he is rebounding much better this year.

only 4 games but hopefully it continues.

I would be content with him at this point if he just passed more and stopped dribbling into 3 defenders.

Stick to the highly efficient attempts.
