I'm pretty sure Carmelo will take less than $129 million. Not saying it will be five years $100 but it won't be $129 million
Watch it will probably be 120-125 million and he will say he took less lol
which would still make him the highest paid player in the game.
Exactly which is crazy when you think of guys like lebron durant duncan parker dirk and even noah who have had more success especially in postseason
It's not crazy when you realize that these salaries and the amount you can make are set in stone and all depend on the years you have put in. Dirk and Duncan have had max salaries in the past. Durant hasn't put in as many years as Melo yet, but do you have any doubt that he wont get his money? If Lebron stays in Miami, he would have gotten more as well....
Oh it's *not* crazy when you look at it from Melo's perspective. But that's not my concern. I'm looking at it from the Knicks' perspective. We have to find a way to build a team that competes against teams with hall-of-famers making only around $10 mil a year (SAS) or the best player on the planet making millions less than Melo.
If you want to use San An as a model, then its the whole leagues problem if they want to wrestle the trophy from them. If this is the case, Bosh is an idiot for taking the max, he should have requested 10 mil per so they can add more talent after Lebron departed. Speaking of Lebron, he's an idiot too for taking the max, he should have only taken 10 mil so they can sign Love outright next year and possibly Marc Gasol so they can compete with the Spurs.
Durant is coming up for FA's too. He's he gonna take a serious pay cut so they can add more talent to OKC?
Well Durant and Lebron are better players than Melo and have had more success so of course they should get more. If I were Melo and i knew my playoff record was tough to look at i would take a paycut in order to get the best players i can to build around me
So this would actually be your thought process? Or did you just want to take a shot at Melos playoff record for the billionth time?
Not taking a shot at melo. See this is what aggravates me. If i am even a tad bit critical of melo i get labeled a melo hater. i have defended the guy plenty of times. However i dont care about his finacial welfare i jst acre about the Knicks payroll because i want to build a long standing contender. I have said a billion times i would liek to have melo back to build around him but the least he could do is take a tad bit less to help phil build the team
You're too damn sensitive. First off, not once did I label you a "melo hater". You keep trying to play victim for some reason. Second, if you read my post instead of getting emotional, you would have seen that the point was that you keep repeating that "Melos playoff record isn't the best" when, most of the time, it was nothing to do with the conversation. That would be taking a shot.
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.
