Nalod called Grunny a patsy not because I disliked him, in fact I defended him when he took over when most just blasted him for his record in Toronto.

Nalod keeps telling y'all the common thread here is not anyone but Dolan.

Don't know whey the dude was basically fired (stays on as an "advisor" is bizspeak for "we fired him but will get paid thru his contract".

Steve Mills has yet to distinguish himself other than being the man in charge when Isiah and Marbury ran the ship into the ground. This just seems like Dolan wants a new coach next year.

Im not worried about Allan Houstan as the GM. No reason to.

Grunwald was in place and it seemed like he was retained out of convienence. Just my thought.

Goes back to who makes the big calls in NY. Its Dolan team.

I like Woody, think he's a good coach who can connect with the team but, his offensive schemes leave a WHOLE LOT to be desired. If they do Fire Woody, I pray that they reach out to Sloan. Sloan would get EVERYONE PLAYING the right way

If Sloan can't handle D-Will, he definitely wouldn't be handle our roster. I respect him as coach and his system speaks for itself. Howard Eisley, Carlos Arroyo, Deron Williams, Matt Harpring, Ronnie Brewer etc. All those guys played better under Sloan than any other coach. Unfortunately, his personality and age make him a bad fit for us.

This just doesn't make sense. Thought Grunwald did a very good job and was very resourceful. Loved reading things about how he checked up on Pablo every year, and used the euro scouts. This move just sucks. It seems like the nba needs to have a clause for owners that are too incompetent. Hopefully Mills doesn't attack the Knicks cap space for 2015 under the guise of 'win now'. This move is just dumb.

And with ZERO GM experience too! NONE! We're in great hands...

Mills doesn't need any GM experience to be GM of the Knicks. He only needs to say one word, "YES", to Dolan. And that makes him the most qualified man for the position.

He doesn't need GM experience. He still has Isiah to provide "consulting."

Then throw Dolan Dollars at a good college coach, do something different to break out of the rut.

The 54 win rut? The Atlantic division champ rut? Second seed in the east rut? Come on now. The Knicks experienced successes last year that they hadn't experienced in almost two decades.

It's a rut if a title is the goal, outside of that, nothing to be ashamed of.

Did I read bring in a college coach and overpay them?

After they fire Woodson, might as well bring in John Calipari for his CAA ties.

I don't understand why the NBA is not stepping in on this? I understand that this man owns the team but that does not imply he can hold it hostage to the detriment of the NBA fan. What exactly did GG do to *get fired* and replaced with a man who has one of the worst all time track records as an NBA executive. There is a story behind the scenes that we do not know about. Maybe one of these writers can work hard enough to dig up the honest truth.

On top of which not a nice way to start a season--it wreaks of *instability* IMHO. We want stability from owner--player assistant coach even to the fan.
Why do this now?

Agree. Mills was really bad in NY. Grunwald has been very good. Grunwald has been with the Knicks for a long time. Not sure why this move was made and I don't know how the nba allows stuff like this to happen.

This was a bit shocking earlier to be honest..But on further inspection, SAS is saying H20 is the guy who does the leg work on the phones...Ian Begley is saying this is huge for Houston because he will be the personnel guy? or play a bigger role in personnel decisions?...If this is a move to give Houston the rudder per se, going into the season where Melo's and Woody's deals come to an end, if Houston is the de facto guy, let's see...

You just know Prokhorov got a "Little Man" dig in again, or took a swipe at the Knicks roster after their offseason moves.

Coincidence that the next day, Dolan rages and lets go of Grunwald?

It's pretty dam obvious...

Prokhorov wasn't there.

Stephen a only brought up h20 after I tweets him. He was under the impression that mills is a well respected GM

Dolan has penis envy. Prokhorov is a big dude, single, has pretty blonde russians women everywhere, likely bangs them at his will and nobody cries "harassment". He satisfies them Dude is secure in his own skin cuz he built/stole his oligopoly. Dolan is an insecure man who plays rock star, has stupid teeth and gets off firing security guards when they don't bow down to him. He needs viagra just to masterbate. Dolan looks like a neebish who got tickets from his boss for fixing his computer and programing his DVR.

Those pics of dolan with isiah and mills he looked bad, like unhealthy bad. Is it too awful to wish for bad health for him?

I think I'm gonna be sick. Disregard basketball for one moment, and this is still messed up in so many ways. For a person to do his job, to the best of his ability, and lose it to some crony because he's in bed with people, is, wow...I don't even have words. Grunny was never even given the full title. This guy strolls in and becomes the President AND the GM!

Not only that, but he has a competitive team, not some cellar dweller, and a clean slate in a couple of years, courtesy of the outgoing guy. The guy responsible for a team that was finally competitive after a decade of mediocrity, the decade for which the incoming guy is partially responsible. Makes so much sense!

Forget the Knicks, take this situation and put it in your life, how would you feel? Unbelievable.

Um, from the WTF department, Grunwald out as Knicks GM
