Plus, this negates some of the reasoning for the Bargs deal. I guess it shows Woody and Grunwald think they can still put together a winner until 2015 free agency.

The real reason for the Bargs deal was to get a player with former potential and a big name, and hope he can put it together again. Not to free up $3.5 mil in 2015. That was just a PR statement.

We are, and always have been, in it to win for the coming year. Also, Woody (and probably Dolan) were not happy with Novak, and so bye, bye. Even though it cost us a 1st round pick and Novak had a role on this team. Spot up 3 pt shooter. He led the team with 3 pt% at 42.5% this year. (47% last year). Copeland was 2nd at 42.1% and he is also gone. Bargs doesn't replace novak. We still need a spot up 3 pt shooter.

Don't worry, I'm sure we'll trade him next Summer along with some future draft picks. Those last two years better not be guaranteed.

Is it really a big deal?

They are in it for the box office, it's never been about winning championships.

This is a risk but not so bad. He has lots of talent and would be tradeable at 6/per in a year or 2 if we needed.

It's certainly larger than Novak's.

yeah, so that is still 3.75m that will be available. They obviously traded for Bargs because they thought he could be a good fit but if he isn't his contract will be up at a good time. Every contract doesn't need to come of in 15.

I agree with you on the boxoffice. After all it is a business in the entertainment field. However, I do believe Dolan would like to win a championship, but winning one is easier said than done.

How much did Chris get?

Well the 2015 season which I never bought one iota has just became more mythical...

Okay time to move Felton is absolutely imperative now.

Looks like they may have an option in the 4th year of the contract not sure if it is a player or team option.

Im very upset about this. 2015 was the way out but its not going to happen . We will trade Amare and 2018 and 2020 1st round picks for Rudy Gay or something stupid like that,. This franchise sux. I dont know whats worse that they want to give him 4 years or they are just so bad at negotiating they get railroaded every single time. How could they watch what went down in the playoffs and give him 4 years. The guy Said F U in the playoffs running around all night while playing like crap its disgusting

U were right we will continue to pile on bad contracts no 1 wants. I find it interesting that the 1 player we r letting go, Copeland is a guy the team that ousted us from the playoffs fears and is going to sign. How many times do u hear opposing coaches say they should of played that player more. I was against keeping Copeland because I wanted the 2015 cap space but if we r adding crap like JR then might as well keep a bargain like Copeland. If the well run Pacers organization wants 1 of r players we should probably keep him.He will probably end up being 1 of their best bench pieces

I have a question for the board. Did J.R. Smiths overall production last season, merit a 4 year 24 million dollar deal, regardless of team?

JR smith, carried this team on his back thru the month of march. When melo was nowhere to be seen, JR shot the lights out. Korver who is not as good as JR got more. Reddick who is not as good as JR got more.

Did JJ.Redicks overall production last season, merit a 4 year 27 million dollar deal?

Did Kevin Martins overall production last season, merit a 4 year 30 million dollar deal?

Did Tyreke Evans overall production last season, merit a 4 year 44 million dollar deal?

Unfortunately, it's not based on production, it's based on current market share, like real estate.
