He not only gets credit but he gets a ton of credit in my book
Don't worry Guns, most Knicks fans agree with you.
JR was the best player on our second unit, which overmatched damn near every other team's second unit - even in a year where everyone and their mother was injured. what's not to love about JR Smith? watch the friggin games instead of doing calculations on the box score... JR was amazing this year
LMAO exactly!!!! Most knick fans and apparently those that actually have a real knowledge for the game beyond stats ( He got 71 first place votes) agree with this as well. Everything this team accomplished is trying to be minimized by a select few. Jr really took his craft serious this year, and despite a few incidents off the court, he approached this season as a professional. Once again, this man took less money to stay here and plays hard every night despite some boneheaded plays.
Also, I agree, Woodson has had a huge impact on him. HE even says that he credits his maturity and success to him "not a day that goes by that we don't talk" ... I will take his word for it since .... well.. it's him speaking for himself and not someone making assumptions. The talent was always there, but when you have a coach that motivates you, believe in you and pushes you it makes a world of difference.
Believe in the beginning of the season JR tweeted something to the effect of... look what happens when your in a good position w/ a good coach.
