So if any of you think the coach is holding the team back from playing like they did early in the season, then you truly don't understand the inside politics of the NEW YORK KNICKS.

You truly don't understand basketball if you think Woodson can elevate a team's play in the playoffs.

Where did I say that , re-read my post.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I've realized having a fixated opinion on this team is futile since it has so many personalities, you aren't sure which one you are rooting for. One day they overcome terrible injuries, play great defense and sound basketball. The next they log out after one quarter and allow to be routed by almost 30.

This team has no identity and sure has a lot of mental issues.

Do you blame the coach? At this point, who really cares?

Life isn't like a box of chocolates. Life is like the '12-'13 Knicks.

Woodson is doing a great job via Wins and losses.

Our roster is shyt. Last years finish and the start this year is very good work. Most of fans think that should be the norm?

Lower the expectations and enjoy the ride.

Besides, Melo is paid to entertain you, not win you a championship.

Offer the job to Mark Jackson. I know he is under contract. How about a trade then? Melo for Jax?

Dude, it isn't only about wins and losses and expecting a great winning streak to be the norm.

I for one expect some sort of consistency and identity from this team. Id be fine with this same record if we showed some identity as a defensive team that we all thought we were getting with Woody.

But this is why many fans, even with the nice record, are losing hope on big things from this team.

Yesterdays loss was inexcusable because of the effort. Effort can be there everytime. No excuse.

We've suffered from injuries, but this team should still have a plan, especially defensively. It hasn't shown in the last 3 months.

I hate losses, any of them. But our losses to Mia and OKC in a way are losses not to be ashamed of. But how many times this team has just switched off and pulled a stinker? Many this year.

Consistency and identity

Record is empty without those two.

Road games are not going to yield the same as home. We all know this.

Its not like they are played the 2nd of a back to back.

You think Woodson and the 10 assistant coach's, the Shaman, Rasputin, spiritual advisors, political officers and the players agents all don't want it?

A coach can yell and scream but you can't coach "consitancy".

Sometimes the other team just shoots better (and at home) and sometimes you just lose.

Its either in them or its not. We have had 9 coaches in 12 years, its not the coach! Its the roster.

our big three is:

A high volume scorer
A defensive center
A defective Power forward

Too many assets spend on those three which leave you with incomplete players to fill the roster out.

You get:

The white guy that can shoot....
The idiot who can't think......
The former star who is old.....
The Former fragile guy who comes back as fragile again.....

Our team is like the wizard of OZ! They all need something!

Its why they were all discounted players. If they were complete, they would not be available or available at that price.

Kurt? Sheed? are you kidding?

Mike Woodson is 64-32 overall and twenty games over .500 this season. More important, our bench always looks engaged with each other, in street clothes or dressed out.

A quick buck?

Mike Woodson is nothing but an old, overpaid mercenary?

Really?

Here is another abstract angle. Perhaps Woodson is a just a crossover coach. He is Old school enough to gain the respect of hard core veterans like Rahseed Wallace and Kurt Thomas. Disciplinarian enough to manage the outsized egos of Carmelo and Stoudemire at the same time... and new school cool enough to motivate hip hoppers I Man Shumpert and Earl Smith.

Nalod thinks Woodson has this team playing a bit over its head and he is doing a fine job. Ebb and flows, teams do this usually. Other teams too!

Woodson is using what tools he has and his job is to win games. Superstars are paid big money to be out there and play even when hurt.

He is not coaching to satisfy the long term purist, he is coaching to win games. Sometimes he will rest some players. Sometimes players just don't have it in them on some nights.

Read books on coach's and you see over the long season it just happens. The fact he got another win streak out of these guys means he coached thru it. Got JR to respond, got Melo back on track, integrated Martin, has Kidd better rested, bringing Shump along slowly.

How many coach's we gonna parade thru the doors and expect miricles every time?

I don't love Woodson but the guy is doing a very good job with this team. I don't expect much in the playoffs. I expect a first round win and we'll just have to see who we get after that.

Teams get hot also and we might run into a team that gets in that groove.

Woodson is having to coach these guy and getting results. Guys like Larry and MDA figure NBA players don't need to coach guys about motivation or tweeting, or staying out too much. they expect professionals to act like it.

We have the right guy for a vet team and one with some personalities that need guidance.

It's crazy.

Tyson Chandler hasn't played in ten games and the remaining shrimpy soldiers bond together.
Carmelo Anthony plays center and we run four guards at once. Insane stuff.
I Man Shumpert's legs are still not healed yet he tries to stay in front of his man the best he can.

The tenacious Raymond Felton slides to make room for Prigioni who acts as if he has been a starter all his career.
Jason Kidd coaches while wearing a uniform.
Kenyon Martin makes us forget Jared Jeffries by raising the bar for intensity.

Mike Woodson never smiled in Atlanta.
Crazy I tell you.

Yeah, and Kurt sacrificed his career for the streak and show how its done. A warrior, a messiah, a prophet who decended from the womb of god to demonstrate the greatness that only god himself can cast upon mortals!

Praise kurt!

"crossover" is a good term. He is not a "Systems" guy like Larry and MDA were. Those two diva starphuchs hires made the money grab because nobody filled up their juice card and built to their systems.

Woodson is not fulifilling a system but being as adaptive and flexible as a coach can. He has used most of his bench at one time or another and like a mechanic is cuba is using what parts he has to make it work. Its not always pretty but he is getting the job done. He has taken many lessons from whom he worked under and at one time or another making it work.
