IS Faried a beast cause he can score because the dude is a liability on D. They both have shortcomings and right now Faried is better because of Shump's injury but I will take a player that can stop a team from getting 10-15 pts during a game while also being able to get 15-17 pts.

Also, it is not just about their first 2 yrs. Give it at least 5.

Sure.

Lets give Johnny Flynn another few years too before we judge who is better

I think I had it right in the Shumpert draft with Vucevic--other than Kyrie irving he will end up most likely being 2-3 best player with Thompson. Shumpert was a nice pick with a great NBA body but he could not shoot in college and he hasnt shot well in the pros. But he also had a little star potential but I think with his knee that might be done.

The knee was/is not the issue

He is just not that great of a player - never was. He was always an extremely inefficient player - why will that change?

I think Amare comes back to the starting line up and Shrump moves to the 2..I think that's always been the plan but the NY media likes drama..

This x 100000000

You don't keep $100mil on the bench

you do when key players don't mesh and the result is subtraction by addition. this has been the issue since february 2011.... the knicks have deep, perhaps even systemic, issues no matter what they try and do.

Dantoni was the issue. The 3 of them play great together. Problem is neither can defend a lick. Except for Tyson every once in a while

For the Knicks to have a shot, Amare has to be on the court 30/35 minutes a game ..That means playing Amare, Chandler, and Melo together...It's all media hype that Melo and Amare can't play together..I think it's real that Chandler and Amare have issues sharing the same space...But they have to play together to resolve those issues...Chandler isn't a big offensive option for us so he needs to learn to get out of Amare's way...This isn't rocket science, it just needs repetition ...

Yea the sooner Rasheed returns and that happens the better prepared we will be for the playoffs. More time to figure out what they want to do defensively

Jared Dudley said in an interview that he doesn't want to be traded- one more reason why I don't want to do that trade.

Way things stand I just don't see us making a significant trade (ie Shump or Novak).

I also wanted Vucevic but it is what it is. However, I am not going to evaluate someone coming off an injury when they haven't had the chances to improve like the others. Maybe he will not improve but to judge him when he hasn't had the full opportunity to do so is not fair. Yes, life is not fair blah blah blah but if unless Mislap or someone with a high set of skills I would not trade Shump right now. I'll move Novak and all the other bench players but give Shump until next years all-star break.

Agreed. And Im not even sure if Milsap is that good or just benefitting from playing alongside Jefferson. Jefferson is the best big on that team

Like trading Shump for Carlos Boozer would be a huge mistake

With that said Milsap is rated much higher in PER & TS% than Boozer.

Then again so is Amare

Milsap and Hickson both have great PER and TS%

whereas a guy like Boozer and humphries put up empty stats

There's talk of the Clippers trading Bledsoe for Milsap. Great trade for both teams

I think Millsap is going to get paid this offseason- wouldn't be surprised if the Rockets or Hawks signed him. Is popular with sabre metric types.

I would like to see a starting 5 of:

Nick Young
JR Smith
Josh Smith
Melo

and one of:

MWP/Felton/BD/Barea/Westbrook/DHoward/...

I can get behind such a team

Closest thing you have to it is the legendary Bucks backcourt duo of Monta 'have it all' Ellis and Brandon Jennings- a backcourt so maddening their coach quit despite a winning record!

Perfect!

Monta Ellis would complete that list and make the "perfect" "team"
