Adrien Payne (C - Mich St) = 6-10, 225lbs athletic center who came out of HS with a big reputation. He coasted thru out his career and was labelled a bust. He finally put it all together his Sr yr and now were seeing what the hype was about. He plays great defense and rebounds very well. What makes him stand out is that he finally is showing his offense. He can hit the mid range jumper and 3s. He's rated at #57 but i think that was based on preseason ratings. I think his stock has risen this yr
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

except he has 2 ACLs. Way more explosive. You know it wouldn't surprise me if Young measured taller and longer than people think given his build. Muscular guys look shorter than they are sometimes.

Right now my top 5 for projected below 20 are(in nor order)

Nate Wolters PG South Dakota State
Victor Olapido SG Indiana
Kelly Olynyk C /PF Gonzaga
David Mcdermott F Creighton
Erick Green G V Tech

These guys were either not listed or listed below 40 on both draft sites at the time of this post. I now believe Wolters Olapido and Olynck are lottery selections--as in were not likely to sniff them.

BRIGGS wrote:1. Shabazz Muhammad--he is clearly pick 1. Lefty great body athletic great scorer. He needs to bring up the rebounding and passing on the next level--but he has a real chance to be a 25-5-5 player in the nBA.

2.Isiah Austin--I know he is skinny but he has the most offensive potential of any big man in this draft. He has the ability to be a franchise center and I like who is dad is. The differentiator is the weight room--if he gets in there and is 245 in 2 years--hes the best player in this draft bar none. If he doesnt put the weight on--it could be a bust. Dont let your wife tell you anything different--size matters.

3. Mason Plumlee--he has every chance to be the next Tom Chambers--unreal like athletic ability at 6-10+ runs the floor like a deer and is just touching what he can do in an all around game

4 Alex Len--simple at an athletic 7-1 240 and a solid offensive game he has all the tools to be an all star level 5 in the nBA

5 C.J. McCollum--reminds me a great deal of Steph Curry--same size a little more athletic also needs to transition to PG but has all of the tools at 6-3.

6. Nerlens Noels--best defensive player in the draft needs a lot of work on the offensive end.

7. Nate Wolters---maybe the best PG prospect in the draft--only held back by some athletic ability issues and wingspan. Plays at his own pace and is a really good passer--will be a better pro PG from a passing standpoint than his shoot first need at SD I could easily move him past McCollum if there wasnt a difference in athletic ability.

8. Cody Zeller--not a 5 which to me knocks him down to late top 10. I see him as a 4 with good skills--his he tough enough against brute nBA 4's? Should be a solid pick here.

9. Doug McDermott- Under rated Plays like a Wally Sczerbiak clone in and out.

10.Anthony Bennett-- A little Zach Randolph a little Paul Millsap== lottery pick.

Upgrading the mock draft.

1. Ben Mclemore Sg

2. Kelly Olynyck Pf/c

3. Mason Plumlee Pf

4 Nerlen Noels C

5 Cody Zeller PF

6 Anthony Bennett PF

7 Nate Wolters Pg

8 Isiah Austin Pf/c

9 Shabazz Muhammad Sg

10 Shane Larkin PG

Moving Kelly Olynck to the number 1 prospect--he is as c
lose to the next Dirk that I have seen--no euro version moving

Keeping the list somewhat the same--moving Noel out for injury and bring back Alex Len from the original mock and for the first time adding Marcus Smart VictorOlapido and adding 11-14

1. Kelly Olynck C/PF Gonzaga

2. Ben Mclemore SG Kansas

3. Anthony Bennett PF UNLV

4. Cody Zeller Pf Indiana

5. Victor Olapido G Indiana

6 Nate Wolters PG S Dakota State

7. Marcus Smart PG Oklhoma

8. Shabazz Muhammed SG UCLA

9 Alex Len C Maryland

10 Mason Plumlee PF Duke

11 Nerlen Noels C Kentucky

12 Michael Carter Williams PG Syracuse

13 Trey Burke PG Michigan

14 Isiah Austin C/PF Baylor

Two week update on top 14

1. Kelly Olynck--keeping him here hes the best pro prospect and at 7 feet the only franchise type possibility in this draft

2. Victor Olapido--moved him up to 2. His overall game is just better than Mclemore and Muhhamed. hes a potential NBA all defsnive 1st team type but he can also avg 14-16 points in the nBA

3. Otto Porter--making a meteoric rise in my eyes--he's going to be an NBA all star

4.Ben Mclemore--has shown a real passive side--hes got great skills and talent--but when you play passive like he has the last few games--a red flag goes up. Still talent athletic abilities skills length too much to ignore.

5. Nate Wolters--hey I love this guy--the most under rated player in the draft. He still has bad form on his J but hes the best PG in this draft. He played through pain the last two games and probably came back into that first one when most wouldve stayed out. 6-4 great ballhandler passer hes the Rubio of this draft--not as spicy but better offensive player and just as long. Better athlete than advertised this is no jimmer freddette way off comparison.

6. Cody Zeller--He also shows lack of passion which is darn scary but just like Mclemore size skills athletiscm

7. Anthony Bennett--I had him higher and maybe he should go as high as the 3 position but at 6-7 there will be limits to his game

8 Trey Burke--hes moving up Hes very good Only size keeps him from top 5.

9. Shabazz Muhhamed no lower than this spot

10 Alex Len---Willie Stein is now making a late push but Len is more athletic but this will be a close decision

11 Isiah Austin--if he plays hard works on his body he could end up the best player in draft but his frame is still the type that makes me think underachiever for size and skill set still top 10

12 Marcus smart--He is not the best shooter in the world and hes not a great athelete but has a great body and a diversity of skills

13 Kyle Andersen--another high riser on my list. he wouldve been top 5 out of HS and coulkd be pick 2 if he stays in school next year---he could be a Knick pick at 24-25 if he comes out hes the type wed promise too. Has some Tracy Mcrady in him for sure.

14. Nerlens Noel--I can justify a top 10 pick on him. he was never shaq and this type of injury is just a wait and see. Who will pull the trigger on him--healthy hes top 5 devastating knee injury? His teammate Willie Stein has shown late lottery talent the last few games in his absence.

@briggs...you think that highly of kyle. I think hes been vastly overated and has underachieved. I think hes a poor mans MCWilliams. I hope he stays in college another yr. To at least finish puberty

Hes a freshmen and while he has not shot well is a very high caliber NBA prospect a guy who can possibly play NBA PG at 6-9 excellent rebounder good passer slasher ballhandler

I'm telling you unless he louses up he draft workouts
PG/SG Ray McCallum of univ. of detroit will be there when NY picks

He's all NY Needs
has the step, the leadership & athleticism and savvy to deal with NY
a poor mans AI (iverson) with same pass High as_sist and scoring but
will be better defender since bigger than AI at 6 2'

NY would love this guy after they boo the pick in June 2013 draft *LOL

Ya'all missing the boat on this guy

I had him very high originally and cooled on him. I think hes late lotto to just outside 8-16 type. He's a little rigid--hed easily go top 5 if he had some kind of balance to his game. If he could hit a 14 footer and use the dribble then you are talking about a high caliber player--but he doenst have that--atleast right now. I thought that would develop more into his game this year but hes really just a pure inside NBA 4 playing college 5. The only big man I really really like in this draft is Olynck. Lets see the rest of the season play out a bit---Plumlee may not even be the best NBA big man on his own team.

I agree. The more I see him, the more I see Jason Capel, the former Tar Heel. If he bulks and gets more athletic, than maybe he can turn into a poor man's Diaw. I thought he could morph into a Tayshaun Prince type, but the dude struggles athletically against college players. He needs to step it up big to make it in the NBA.

I think more of a healthy version of Shawn Livingston(but hes considerably bigger 2 inches taller and 50 pounds heavier). He can legitimately be moved to 1 guard in the NBA. Once he learns how to shoot he will be a difficult match up.

The player who really is coming on is Trey Burke. Most mock drafts dont have him in the lottery at all. I moved him up to 8 last week and the more he plays the more he looks like the next Chris Paul. Nate Wolters is my number 1 PG but Trey Burke is right up there if he was 2-3 inches taller he would be a possible number 1 pick. Because hes only 6 feet will keep him mid to late lottery.

Two guys who will make runs for the first round in the coming weeks will be Kenny Kadji and Ryan Kelly. Kelly played well this year until he was hurt--had an incredible game the other day. If he can show a Ryan Andersen type game down the stretch---again at 6-11 he could make a massive run from the bottom of the 2nd round to undrfated to get into a late round 1 position. I think Kadji is already late round 1 20-30 but just listed back a ways.

Trey Burke = Kyle Lowry 2.0 (if he was 3 inches taller hed be a franchise player)

Kenny Kadji = impressive PF; however i heard hes already 25yrs old

Updated top 5 for pick 23-25

Based on what the consensus says will be left--discounting players that are consensus top 18 or more.

1. Nate Wolters

2. Isaiah Cannon--after seeing him twice now this year--he is super legit. We would not walk away unhappy with this new PG who can stroke the 3. Has some Tim Hardaway resemblance

3. Erick Green

4. Kenny Kadji--moving him up. Hes older but hes a guy who can help an NBA team right now with his diversification of skills at 6-11

5. Ryan Kelly--looks more like a Ryan Andersen type clone not bad for pick 23-24.

Ih he played like that all year hed be a top 7 pick easy. He could walk into a lower 1 but hes not a finished product. This is a guy who should come back and finish out his game like he played yesterday. All guys who need to hone their skills should stay. Its hard to hone them in the nBA especially with two seasons instead of 3. Well see he will get love from atleast 1 NBA team--he might ve shown just enough yesterday to walk into a 23-30 pick. To me if you can make 3-4mm $ at that age--you take it--buy a nice house for cash--then you have a financial stone for life. everything you make goes into the bank. Another guy who will get drafted is Seth Curry--hes been making a push. He has the bloodlines and hes a really good 3 point shooter--plus he does other things--hes a winner
