Billy King did not hire Avery. He was already in place.

Unless your a puppet GM like Grunny, GM's have to have their guy in the coach's seat.

I would imagine King knows which direction he is going in.

You don't think grunwald has his guy as the coach? Amnestying billups, signing Tyson and hiring Woodson as defensive assistant were the moves he made to get his guy in place.

Sad part is Avery is a good coach. He was trying to change his system to suit his star players and they still under performed. I don't think any coach can take this job but Phil, because he'll get full control.

After those guys turn down the job Mike Dunleavy will be the new Nyets headcoach lol

I Just spoke with Jerry Sloan. He refused to comment on Nets or D-Will. All he would say is that he's open to coaching in NBA again.

hmmm I can see Sloan taking the job since the Nyets have more talent than his Utah teams

Funny Deron is playing tonight. I think its pretty clear he knew Avery was going to be fired so he sat out that why the Nyets lose without him. In an attempt to show that he is not the problem. He was killed in the media anyway

Grunny has been deputy dog since the Isiah Era.

Its no stroke of genious to amnesty billups for 14mil and sign Tyson in his place. Just have to have more money than other teams!

Isiah and Dolan figured Woodson as head assistant and we all saw what was gonna happen. Either MDA turned it around big or he was gone.

Grunny is a good man and good GM. Many slammed him in toronto but I always liked the guy. Somtimes ownership can make a good GM look bad. Sometimes a good owner can make a bad GM look good.

Grunny does not get to set policy the way Donnie did. Therefore he is a puppet.

Sampson is well thought of as a head coach and more so in the NBA than he was in college.

Sloan? Wow, that would kill the coach killer theory.

Who signs the checks? Who sets media policy?

If Sloan resigned out of disgust from his relationship with Deron I can't imagine a guy coming back for a reunion.

We talking about a 67 year old man who is I'd put even odds toe to toe with Deron in a fist fight!

Would Deron even approave it?

Is Deron a coach killer or you just have it in for the guy?

The real question you should ask "Is Deron Williams not a Coach Killer?" or "Can Deron Williams change his ways?"

Substitute Deron Williams name with Stephon Marbury and you have your answer.

I dont believe that coach killer nonsense...D.Williams was traded..what..2 weeks after Sloan resigned? If D.Williams had that much control that he can get A.Johnson fired then he would have a say on who would come in to replace him.....if that was the case, J.Sloan wouldn't even be considered.

Sloan and D.Williams had a lot of success together...J.Sloan has been coaching for a long time...his stepping down from the coaching position in Utah could have just come down too frustration with the new generation of Basketball players. I dont know
