That is our sour point on the team--why not address it by moving shots to other players until JR can shoot back in the 40's?
Who else is supposed to shoot? Right now Woodson is leaning on JR Smith to be the primary handler and scorer off the bench because he really doesn't have anybody else who can do it at the moment. A lot of this will be alleviated when Amare comes back as the sixth man because then some of the scoring load will be off of JR. Nobody else is good enough to create offense for themselves coming off the bench, except maybe Rasheed Wallace in the post.
I don't harp on shooting percentage as much as shot selection because shots just don't fall sometimes. I would agree that he's been bad in this respect also. He was playing really well when he was attacking the rim, but lately he's been taking more of the mid-range jumpers he doesn't need to take and that's frustrating. JR and Felton specifically help the Knicks play their best when they attack the rim and kick out to the shooters or get lay-ups.
As far as flaws are concerned, I'm not sure that SG is one of them. Jason Kidd is a SG at this point in his career. He's adequate defensively, effectively spaces the floor with his 3 point shooting and has the passing skills to know when to move the ball and set up other guys. The Knicks do have flaws, though.
