Seriously, you can't do that. You can't catch a chest-high pass while lifting off and just flick it through the rim backward over your right shoulder. It's not allowed. The Knicks bench knew this. Look at Tyson Chandler in that video. He saw the dunk and immediately decided he had to leave. Rules were being broken and Tyson didn't want to be there for the repercussions. I love that dunk. I want to go apartment hunting with that dunk. The funny thing is J.R. had another highlight when he swatted the simmering **** out of Gary Neal's layup in the first quarter, but I don't even care anymore because that dunk makes me forget that other things ever happened. - Seth Rosenthal once a knick always a knick

![]() As the thread title states, I couldn't be more proud of our current Knicks team of 2012-2013. Quickly becoming a Knicks team to remember.
Melo has dominated as Madison Square Garden chants M.V.P on a nightly basis. Tyson Chandler's feasting off the boards while becoming our first All-Star Center since Patrick Ewing (just tied a Knicks franchise record for consecutive games of at least 20 boards). Amar'e Stoudemire worked out with Hakeem followed by recovering from offseason injury (a cyst in which had to be removed) before returning into a low post nightmare heading into All-Star weekend. J.R Smith is playing with the type of heart that I haven't seen/enjoyed since John Starks while competing/contending for the NBA's 6th Man of the Year award. Iman Shumpert's not only recovering from injury but also developing into our starting 2G of the future. Raymond Felton's truthfully became a New York leader at the PG position, in the mold of a Charlie Ward/Chris Childs type. Without question our offensive fasilitator. Plays the game of basketball with so much New York City type of heart and pride. Novak is once again top 5 in three point shooting percentage. Pablo has emerged onto our Knicks scene while playing the game of basketball like an underdawg with the guts of a junk yard dog. Jason Kidd, a future HOF great, is impacting our entire team as the perfect role playing veteran fighter. We're still waiting for the likes of veteran BIG's in Kurt Thomas, Rasheed Wallace and Marcus Camby to recover before returning, but damn has this team been a team to remember. It's been a long time coming, but this has been one hell of a feeling. Memories of my childhood days during our entire 90's era. An actual true NBA contender to not only pull for, but also enjoy. We've battled through so many different types of team injuries throughout our first 46 games, but yet, we're first place of our Atlantic Division which is something that I've only seen twice during our Ewing era and something in which our franchise has only witnessed four times dating back to 1971; It's time to hang a Division banner. This has been such an exciting time to pull for our Knicks and I've simply loved everything about this current New York squad dating back to when our offseason unfolded. Traded for our starting PG in Raymond Felton. Loved it. The man averaged 17.1 points and 9.0 assists during 54 games while Amar'e Stoudemire himself feasted back in 2010-2011. Signed a future HOF great in Jason Kidd as a free agent. Landed an overseas warrior in which started alongside both Luis Scola and Manu Ginobili for Argentina's National team. Couldn't get Nash, fine, so we convinced Jason Kidd to chase another ring here in New York alongside Melo and our Knicks. Somehow-Someway kept J.R Smith while also signing Steve Novak long term. Still waiting on Kurt, Rasheed and Camby but so much to be thankful for as a fan base moving forward. You can no longer talk about the likes of Miami and Chicago without also mentioning these New York Knicks of 2012-2013. During our offseason I had multiple threads over on RealGM explaining why and/or how when fully healthy, that our current Knicks were on the verge of becoming our strongest Knicks team dating back to exactly 1993-1994. So far, so good. Those 1993-1994 Knicks had 15 loses heading into our 51st game. If these current Knicks were to win out from now until the all-star break, we'd also be 35-15 at overall heading into our 51st game. Same exact record as those throwback Knicks in which were led by Doc Rivers/Derek Harper/Greg Anthony/Hubert Davis, John Starks, Charles Smith, Charles Oakley, (of course) Patrick Ewing and Anthony Mason. Loved old man Herb too. You mean to tell me, that 50 games into the season, and we could possibly/potentially feature a winning record of 35-15 for the first time dating back to 1993-1994? Our strongest 50 game start dating back to 19 years ago? This team has been something magical. Something very special in the making. That 1993-1994 Knicks team finished with 57 wins after being 35-15 after 50 games. They only went 22-10 during our last 32 games. I expect much better from our current Knicks team of 2012-2013. Thus far has already been a team to remember for the ages. If we head into all star weekend at 35-15 overall, I truthfully believe this team can (and will) break our all-time record set by both the 1969-1970 and 1992-1993 Knicks. Which were seasons of exactly 60 wins. For example, that 1992-1993 Knicks squad went 34-16 after 50 games. At (potentially) 35-15 overall I truthfully believe we can go at least 26-6 during our final 32 games in order to finish 61-21 ala setting an all-time franchise record for most regular season wins during a single season. Believe me, the count down will begin if we're 35-15 heading into our All-Star break. I just wanted to bump this thread for the simple fact, that I was proud of this current Knicks team back on 11/23 of 2012. When this thread was created, it was during a time in which our Knicks just lost two consecutive ball games. We were 8-3 overall. The pulse of our forum was going ape ****. As in after each and every loss regardless of the team injuries and/or situations we're facing. Complete chaos following loses. I've been around the game of basketball for a long time, and I like to believe that I know (and can spot) a true NBA contender when I watch one on a nightly basis. I myself personally never considered our Knicks under Ewing, Houston, L.J, Sprewell and Camby as being true contenders. They were nothing when compared to our Knicks of the early/mid 90's. This team is something different. Just go back and read the first page of this thread, and you'll notice that certain Knick fans acted as if I were clueless and/or weren't pulling for true NBA contenders. Is what they failied to understand, is that it didn't take me 11 games into our season in order to see something very special in our current Knicks unit, because I seen it during our offseason. What we did opening night against Miami was something, more like a sign of things to come. Consecutive loses against Houston and Dallas couldn't tame my excitement for something in which I've patiently waited for dating back to our offseason moves. More like since the early/mid 1990's to be exact. We've been true NBA contenders since day one of the regular season. During our final 36 games, as a fan base, we better be ready to buckle down. Because we're in for one hell of a ride. 8-2 during our last 10 games while currently riding a 5 game win streak. We should also win our next 4 matchups without question (heading into the break). Then it's time to chase Knicks history for the greatest single season record of all-time (heading into postseason contention). You mean to tell me that the likes of Felton, Kidd, Shumpert, Melo, Chandler, J.R, Stoudemire, Novak and Pablo have only played together during three games? Our previous three games in which we've gone 3-0 at that? Sky has now became the limit. So very proud of this team and everything they've stood for. Woodson, without Pat's Lakers success, is our very our Pat Riley as of right now. Just go back and read the original post of this thread, you'll then see that I seen this coming since day one. We have a true NBA contender on our hands men. Less than 1/2 a game from featuring the third strongest record in all of basketball behind only the likes of San Antonio and OKC. We go 4-0 from here until All-Star weekend? And the countdown begins during our final 32 ball games. We're in for one hell of a ride and thus far our journey has been one to remember. |

"Fiction"? "Childrens"? "History" "Mental Health"? "Special INterest"? Im not sure the purpose of the post as its almost "self congratulatory"! I read it by if you use a "Movie coming attaction" voice when you so it works better than a sleep deprived value statement. |

Don't get all pissy because someone posts in single-spaced oblong prose, rather than the patented easy to read double-spaced format. Give the man some credit. I actually was typing in a "Monster Truck Rally/UFC" announcer voice! Next week: Long posts with chapter and verses numbered for easy retention! StarMooby Fable-istic Biblical epics! |
