Woodson said Lin was expected to play a key role in the team's future.

"Jeremy Lin has always been a big part of what we're trying to do as we move forward with our franchise," Woodson told reporters in Las Vegas, where the Knicks are participating in summer league.

Woodson said the Knicks probably will sign Jason Kidd to their mid-level exception of $3.09 million on Thursday. Woodson said Kidd will be "a perfect fit" for Lin.

The BILLIN part is no more out of context than anything else written at the time... lobbyist will believe what they want based on final results a desired set of circumstances. So whenever Woody speaks to the press we have to take what he says with a grain of salt right going forward right?

I knew Woodson said it I thought you were implying that someone in the front office said it.

Woodson doesn't sign the checks....it would be different if Dolan or Grundwald made similar comments.
