It's sad to think that we're probably going to get more Linanal-a-sys on this board than anything else as the season goes on...

Pre-season Houston game and we're getting highlights posted from a 3 point, 6 assist effort.

Hey how come no one posted videos of Toney Douglas 4 point 7 assist effort?

It might be his only highlight of the year lol.

Guys at clutch city are saying a lot of positive things about Toney. Hope he gets his career back on track.

Gallo/Brewer played well

All of Phx starters look like they've been playing with each other for a while

Waiters played well

Derrick Williams played well

Pacers new additions Green and Mahinmi played well

Quiet as kept GSW have this guy by the name of Ezele who is flat out nasty. If they stay healthy they are a playoff team. David Lee has played well himself.

Last but not least Eddy Curry is getting real minutes on the Spurs and contributing. I want to start a thread about him but don't want to rattle this board about his situation.

Thanks. I read some good things about ezele. He is supposed to start if Bogut isn't ready. Ezele is easy to remember because his first name sounds like Festivus the holiday for the rest of us.
Cool that gallo is over his shoulder injury

"Starting to look" is still a little premature. It's only one preseason game, guys. But, yes, I do think Felton is a better point guard right now. He's simply more seasoned and, therefore, has more wisdom on the court -- just like J-Kidd. Lin has potential, but he's still figuring it out. Also on a plus on the Knicks' side is that Felton appears to be in great shape.

1. franco12 - for the 50-eleventh time, Carmelo Anthony had absolutely NOTHING to do with Lin taking the Knicks generous rebuttal to the Houston offer sheet (which they said they would do in advance) bacvk to the Rockets for more money.

2. franco12 - Carmelo Anthony is just a man. He does not run the Knicks. James Dolan signs the checks. It was his call. Period.

3. franco12 - let's check the side-by-side comparison. Houston Star player Lin - 3 points, 6 assists.
NYK Third string guard Pablo Prigioni 14 points, 3 assists and 3 steals

You're going to use preseason stats to justify Dolan's moves?

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

The Answer Man Is Happy We Finally Have Basketball

Q. VCoug - You're going to use preseason stats to justify Dolan's moves?

A. Nope, I prefer the excellent commentary of Howard Medgal

Steve Novak looked noticeably quicker to my eyes, which is great to see, since he needs to be less of a defensive liability to play more. 32 minutes played would have been a season-high last year. I mean, the shooting, sure. But the everything else is what we need to be looking for: shooting is the given.

J.R. Smith was fantastic. He scored 20 points, took a team-high 11 shots, but they weren’t forced. He had six assists, four rebounds and a steal. And again, I don’t get the not starting thing. Mychel Thompson did, and frankly, he looked like a non-guaranteed invite playing out of position-which, of course, he is. Are we so sure Ronnie Brewer is coming back at full strength? Are we sure Smith isn’t the best option to start anyhow?

I really enjoy watching John Shurna shoot. And Henry Sims strikes me as someone who could help a team passing out of the high post and blocking some shots, if only he were a bit stronger and able to rebound. But remember, he couldn’t even do that adequately in college.

The Wizards color commentator said the he agreed with the Knicks decision not to resign Lin because it was too much money....take it for what its worth.

Uptown - that was Phil Chenier.

It was not the money. The Knicks have plenty of money. It was the do-over money.

He is correct.

he didn't say he agreed, he was pretty much stating why he thought the knicks didn't match and that was because we were already loaded with huge deals with amare, carmelo and chandler....

Pretty much why Houston's poison pill third year made the contract almost impossible to match.

Face it!! Melo and Lin cannot coexist. One or the other had to go. If Lin would have remain here we would have had a major problem. First of all I don't think Lin's body would be able to take the punishment he would get from other teams. Now he is in Houston and even if he gets the numbers he got in New York it wouldn't matter because he would be off the big stage. I think also that New York Knicks new something that Houston didn't about Lin's dourability .

There's almost no evidence that they couldn't have worked together. They didn't play together during Linsanity and then Melo wasn't trying after he came back from injury under MDA. I still can't believe that there are people who believe the Lin decision was based on anything other than Dolan's ego.

Totally untrue. Lin is more of a scoring pg but so was Billups. Billups and Melo meshed just fine....

The amount he had to pay because of the new cba and the restrictions that would be on the team made it a very tough contract to match. It was probably the smart business decision. It may have been an emotional decision reaction on Dolan's part but it also may have just been business.
