uh. the nets have no cap room for the next four years. where's his leverage again. what's he gonna sign for the mini MLE?

really just a tremendously awful job of managing this by the nets. they have no cap room and thus no leverage in the trade. dwight howard CANNOT sign there. he must be delivered there. with his drama queen horse manure, why the heck would orlando gift wrap dwight to their own conference again? for an inferior package than what they could get from either the lakers, rockets or hawks?

Bynum is a supreme talent with the heart of Eddy Curry. Luckily for Bynum he does have weight issues like Curry.

Bynum is a complimentary piece at best.

The Nets can get under the cap if they need to even if they have to give away players.

you are comparing Bynum to Eddy Curry?
IF Bynum heard that about him, would judo chop you in the throat LOL

He is the best Center at least offensively in the league and a legit rebounder and shot blocker.
He has legit moves, skills, and an offensive game unlike Dwight.
I don't know many centers that I would say are better than Bynum on both ends.

He just cannot move well after those surgeries and go out and contest shooters.
You make it sound like he is a Charlie Ward, *no disrespect to Ward, I loved both Childs and Ward*

Doesnt matter no team is going to want to trade for someone who says they would rather be somewhere else and will not sign an extension with any other team. If he gets traded to said team anyway, he will play half heartedly, not sign the extension and then go free market and sign with some other team if the nets havent made moves mid season to free themselves for dwight. Either way the said team loses.

sooo... if he won't sign an extension with any other team and the nets have no cap room, i guess poor dwight will have to retire?

it's called a bluff. and it's an empty bluff if he has no ability to sign with the nets.

it worked for melo because the knicks actually had cap room.

also, which teams have cap room next season that dwight would like to take his amazing abilities to?

because the nets don't have cap room for four years. all they have to do to create it is trade either joe johnson or deron williams. because next season the cap goes down to $50M and deron and joe make $40M combined.

the amount of teams that have cap room next off-season when the cap drops to $50M is going to be very small.

would dwight like to be a sacramento king?

Nets would have plenty of cap room and the 6th pick to offer had they not pulled the trigger on the brilliant move that got them Gerald Wallace

not after this season they don't. has to happen before next off-season or nets are screwed unless the magic want to trade for joe johnson.

i mean, a year is a long time....

but on what planet is brook lopez worth a max contract? 18ppg 7rpg? eddy curry put up better numbers.

lol great point on eddy curry. Lopez used to average 7-8rebs now its more like 4rebs. Kidd might average more in 15-20mins

holy SH!!!T. i just looked up brook lopez's numbers from last season.

19ppg. 3 REBOUNDS PER GAME.

ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDDING ME THAT THAT IS A MAX CONTRACT?!?

any notion of brook being offered a max deal is clearly a negotiating ploy by the nets

Lopez is a lot more talented offensively. Not only can he shoot but he scores inside. Something Channing Frickin Frye was allergic to but I agree and the Magic do to. Lopez is nothing to get excited about. Now if they had the 6th pick, a lottery pick not 3 late 2nd rounders Orlando would've dealt him to the Nets already.

i agree. the gerald wallace trade was a total desperation move.

i mean, the nets will be solid if they don't get dwight. like 7th/8th seed solid. maybe.

yea I put them in the 6-8 seed range. You know the range Atlanta has tried so desperately to get out of this offseason. I don't think they are better than Indy and Chicago. They will be competing with Philly, Washington & Milwaukee for a playoff spot

Might as well give Lopez a max deal since they will be capped out anyway for the next 4yrs

then the knicks should give landry a max.

career wins:

landry 78 (2 seasons)

brook 48 (3 seasons)

brook lopez's best statistical season came on a 12-70 team.

Is the max for a young player 4 or 5yrs. I'm hearing 5. Giving Lopez the extra yr would be another mistake

Rockets remain strongly engaged w/ Orlando in direct talks for Dwight Howard, sources tell Y! They've spent little time on 3-way scenarios.
