Nash and Kidd is 40 years old, we need a vet who can play heavy minutes...You can't ask a rookie like LIn to compete in the type of basketball on a level we saw the last two weeks...Ray Allen would definitely be a great addition which makes JR and Novak expendable...I'm ok with that IF Allen signs...But resigning JR does nothing to you cap...We don't have many options out there...

You might not want to give Nash the full MLE but I would. As much as I like Lin, its a pipe dream to believe that he will ever play as well as he did after his great run. If Nash goes to the Heat, game over.

LeBron finally gets it, Wade has a couple of seasons left in him, Bosh even longer. Are we supposed to be thinking about contending until after the Heat's window has passed while we have our own window to deal with?

OKC has a young team that needs more pieces, but once they do they will be perennial contenders. Our best shot is to get by the Heat while they retool, and the Thunder before they have all their pieces. After that the Knicks (as presently constructed) will be too old to get by the Heat or the Thunder. If we didn't have as much talent on this squad as we do now I would say to take long view but there is enough talent on this squad with the addition of a few more pieces to contend.

Read carefully, the discussion was about JR and the MLE not Nash..And of course I would give Nash the MLE but he won't take it..He will get 10 mil from PHX for two years...Ray Felton is our best option at PG..

actually you never mentioned birds rights to be honest. We were talking about being able to use the MLE on others and you said we should use it on Smith. We dont have Smith's birds rights and second of all we have other needs than a streaky shooter

Refering the the topic, I clearly asked if this applied to JR Smith as well???...Please show me where I said I would use the MLE on JR Smith..

I think this is gonna stick. The arbitrator made a solid ruling and based it off previous CBA, so it's not just him basing it off a feeling. NBA tried to get slick using vague language and they got caught.
