assuming melo is empowered to get whatever he wants seems to be assuming things a bit, no?

maybe grunwald wants to go in a different direction, to a more half court oriented team, and a new coach.

they gave mda his shot, but even with this being a short season i don't think they expected things to be this bad/crazy.

after 35 years as a fan, this franchise is really losing me... mike woodson could not stop the iso joe offense.. if this offense goes to iso melo. I am done..

Ironically, I was listening to Stpehen A rant about just that and the very real possibility of the Nets stealing Knick fans away once they're in BK.

Not to say did a good job here - but this is ultimately what's holding us back.

Not too happy about this but its another day in the Knicks soap opera. I'm not sure why so many are happy about this considering we no longer have a coaching staff and we are over 70% of the way through the season.

We will see how it plays out.

WOOOHOOO!!!!! HELL YEAH!!!!

THANK GOD!!! HALLELUJAH!

NOW we can get down to business! I am SO anxious to see what Woodson is going to do.

This team NEEDS a fresh face, voice and strategy right now. They had given up on MDA- We're FINALLY rid of that guy, NOW we have a chance for the season to be salvaged.

Let's give Woodson a shot and not hate on him as some may try to do. Woodson is the NEW face and deserves a shot. We';ll see about Phil next year, but at least this year isn';t a wash with that nonchalant dude who many fans had grown (rightfully) tired of- just like the team did.

Ohh yeah... I am about to go to the UltimateKnicks forums and CELEBRATE. I am getting a cold beer on the way home tonight. ALL Knicks fans should be happy about this...

WOOOHOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the BEST news I've heard all day!

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I don't even give a crap about what Woodson does because we ain't doing **** this year anyway. I just need Dolan to start kissing PJax and Sloans ass.

this is what happens when the front office is basically a shadow entity run by dolan (and isiah).

i'm sure the rest of the team is thrilled with melo right now.

and this morning's and last night's little media blitz by CAA? worked like a charm for them.

FCCCK this SH!!T

worst run organization in pro sports.

The funny thing is we saw how a sports team should be run with Donnie. This ****ing owner is an *******. He should shove his head into Melo's ass and just go away.

I was never a MDA fan although I will miss Dan D'Antoni who looked like he bought his ties from the guy who sells them on the fold out table outside Penn Station! Phil Weber's psuedo Riley hair style will be missed as well.

Looks like Kenny Atkinson and Herb are all that is left on the bench. Charles Oakley would fill one of the empty spots nicely...

Phil's the bigger name so it would be him.

Exactly.

Clippers don't play good defense now anyway (aside from FLOPPING), but they're fast breaking offense under D'Antoni with both CP3 and Griffin would be good and fun to watch!

Well, it takes something big to get me out of retirement.

The hell with D'Antoni's smug ass. The guy's system was based on "I hope some guys get hot!"

Mike Woodson is not the answer either. There is no answer as long as Dolan is the owner.

Woodson will probably be here through next season, then it will be time for the next coach!

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

I wouldn't be all gloom and doom now and say that the Knicks are back to being a cluelessly run organization because with Sloan or Phil we are going to see great fundamentally sound basketball defensive & offensively. And if players don't buy in the will be held accountable or shipped out. None of our "super stars" superceed those 2 hall of fame coaches

We dont know the particulars on what rally happened. I'm sure he didn't flat-out resign, it was probably a mutual agreement and they called it a resignation to save face for MDA...

Wherever he goes I doubt MDA will go for another rebuilding process. I think he is going to want something as close to a tailor made team for his style as possible.
