Geeez... Don;t you guys think there's been enough B*tchi*G and moaning about getting rid of Van Horn already. I don't think I saw this much Ruckus when we traded the real talent we had in Spree. It's very telling when despite his solid outings during stretches in his career that no team wants to keep him as a piece of their puzzle for championship hopes... Know why? Cause he is soft... he is a great shooter and a decent rebounder.. but a defensive liability.. who come playoff time will get lit up by a good sf... Imagine him trying to guard Rasheed, Artest, Richard Jefferson, Peja!
Although those are good players who probably won't get shut down by anyone.. at least with Tim we can have a lil confidence that they could be contained as much as was possible with the pieces available to us at the time of this trade...
Long story short... GET OVER IT!

KNICKS RULE!!!!!!!!!!

I like the trade - it gives us a chance to get better. But it's not a no brainer - at this point in there career KVH is better the TT. TT has the potential to be a good defensive player - but he's been in the league seven years and he is NOT a good defensive player nor is he tough - his game is SOFT. KVH is a better scorer and rebounder. I like the trade because we improved at the center position and TT is athletic enough and young enough to BECOME a good defensive player - but at this point he hasn't proven he can guard a decent SF either - Has TT won somewhere, has anyone ever said he was a good defensive player? Why do you have confidence TT can contain anyone?

This trade is great if the players we picked up IMPROVE - and I think they will. But to imply TT is a good defensive player and this trade is a no brainer - in my view just isn't accurate.

but KVH has averaged a lot more minutes during his career. If Tim got his kind of minutes he would average 7-8rebs a game. And he's because improving each year.

He's getting 30+ minutes this year and he's still not getting more than 5 boards per game. The guy just doesnt do a good job there. They're gonna have to preach to him that he needs to hit the boards. And about his improvement, you have to remember this guy has been in the league since 1997. He was supposed to improve last year since he became a starter, but he didn't. He's basically the same player he always was.

There is always the chance he can get better, but he's just as maddening as Van Horn. I just hope his D proves to be an upgrade. We can't afford to hide 3 players in the zone anymore.

The big upgrade is Nazr Mohammed. I liked Doleac but Mohammed is a very good offensive rebounder and he's a solid performer when given the minutes. At 27 he'll be a pretty good young center for us. Doleac was probably gonna want to walk next year anyway. Hopefully Mohammed starts. Mutumbo has helped, but you can't play him against every team.

Hopefully the adjustment period for this trade won't be too long. We are playing good basketball right now, and I don't want that too change.

Hmm....

You should post a link where he was quoted saying that. It's always a good thing to get players that want to be a Knick. I always said that if Stephon ever came to the Knicks, he'd play better than he ever has in his career. If TT said that, then the same prediction applies. Watch him step up BIG TIME in NY. That trade is gonna look like a steal. Some are already calling it that.

I understand why Hardcore has not been here in a while, but he should come back and join the misery. We all have suffered in our own ways. No gloating, just cough up the feathers and rejoin the back.

I'll be sure to tell him at the game on Sunday.

I didnt even consider the colors of the trade, but knowing what I know about Isiah, makes sense. Funny thing is the trade was alot better for us, talent wise, unfortunately Stephon thought it was more important to get his points than spread the wealth.

This was one of the few trades I approved of.

We realistically weren't gonna go anywhere with Van Horn or Doleattack, and we got GREAT exchange rate on the dollar.

Chemistry-wise, maybe not so much, but I still like it.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I peed on my computer after the TT trade. I hated that one more than any. Tim Thomas was such a joker. Isiah for some reason loves the high potential, no results kind of guys.

It was sort of an even trade, but it worked out ok for us cause KVH ended up injuring himself not too long after.

As it was KVH and Doleac were tremendous fits with Marbury (pick and roll wise- not personality wise) and were enjoying good chemistry with him before the trade was made. I thought the trade was a minor disruption/blip. TT was surprisingly softer than KVH and his lack of rebounding ability and toughness screwed us the next year.

Every trade NY has made I have taken a wait and see approach. With this one, I didn't wait, I just peed on my computer. Tim Thomas was a joker.

the timing of this trade just did not make any sense at all... the team was finally beginning to gel & starting to improve, & then Isiah tinkers w/it again & adds a career underachiever & cancer like Tim Thomas to the roster.

typical Isiah move as it turns out.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.
