While I am very happy to be killing this team scoring-wise, our defense is still below-average at best. 54 points at the half to this team is just not good. But it's something we have to live with with Mike and Amar'e.

And having a similar type of game like tonight in a playoff series will only be even more scarce.

I'll take good D over incredible shooting anytime.

Knicks are totally relaxed. There's no pressure at all on them and they're shooting free and easy.

I like some of the young guys on the Raps. Derozan and that Johnson kid. The Raps and Cavs can look forward to some decent young teams if they draft well. I see young guys that play hard and have some talent. Each team just needs a real lead player and should be able to get that in the draft.

I love the offense but not a fan of the "no defense" attitude. 3's prolly wont be falling like that in 2nd half.

There's more going on besides the incredible shooting. The team is getting fastbreaks off defense and they're playing offense with tremendous chemistry. The ball is moving and players are moving. No more banging into each other. The sets look smooth and they have been getting better and better over the last 4 games. That bodes well for the playoffs. We gave top teams trouble and we weren't playing anywhere near this cohesive!!! These are good signs.

I still don't see great defense. Yea we had a few blocks, steals, and transition opportunities that we capitalized on, but Toronto is still likely to score over 100 points tonight, and I was never a fan of the "pace" excuse. Its just a D'antoni cover up.

But since things are going well tonight, I'd like to credit the offense. The spacing is much better now, and Stat and Melo have formed a terrific bond that is thriving off of tremendous shot making ability and unselfishness.

They will not make every single 3 in other games, but all but maybe 1 or 2 of them have been wide open, and all but maybe 1 were from good ball movement. The Raptor "defense" or whatever you want to call it, is giving up the 3, have to take what the defense is giving you.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

The Magic gave up 48 to Toronto two days ago at the half, I would like to know how many posessions they played that game VS. this. Toronto shot 50% from the field for the game.Or is Orlando also considered to be just another bad defensive team?

Why even bother mentioning a scenario that took place in one single game? Ever consider checking season averages?

They're in the top 5 in points allowed, they're the 6th best rebounding team in the league, and have the best defensive player in the world.

Am I missing something here?

The simple idea that all that defense still lets up 105 points to the craptors and loses by 15.

I think a lot of people here would rather lose 85-80 than win 120-110.

Just getting in late and catching up on the thread. Incredible numbers so far.
