That's a lot. I'm sorry but Gallo = a lotto pick, but Wilson and Mozgov do not. It was a fair deal. I don't know about stole though. And the big question is whether he re-signs there - his first reaction implies that he is shocked and dismayed. Doesn't sound like a guy who will want to re-sign long term. Orlando and the Lakers are both going to have cap room in 2012. I could see Deron wanting to play for a better franchise. As far as best PG, Chris Paul is still the best. Rondo and DRose aren't too shabby either. DWill is definitely a top 5 PG. ¿ △ ?

Declined to do interv until he figures out what it all means I hope NJ keeps on losing, doesn't ever become his choice and he walks away from NJ for nothing next offseason. What would be funnier is if Deron walked away from the Nets, right to the Knicks. Poetic justice, and sweet spit right in the face of that wannabe-gangsta, scheming bum of a Nets owner Prokhorov. Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year.

![]() Deron Williams Spin Control:
The tweets are coming fast and furious. Spin: Prokhorov will get Williams to buy into vision of Nets franchise and sign extension after new CBA is ratified. Truth: Williams doesn't have to buy into it. He can keep his options open and make Prokhorov put up or shut up. Williams will resign WHEN the Nets make more significant moves, not in the idea they want to and will try to. He gains nothing by giving them the benefit of the doubt. Spin: The Knicks should have tried for Williams instead. They slept on this and the Nets took advantage. Truth: Utah is no NYC, but they do have phones and the internet. If Utah was interesting in Felton/fill-in-the-blanks, they could have reached out to the Knicks themselves. Rebuilding teams like lottery picks. |

No one wants to go to New Jersey right now. Maybe DWill helps change that... or maybe he's dying to get out of there for the next season and a half and the Nets have to trade him at the deadline next season? If nothing else, this trade gives Knicks fans upset about the Melo trade something further to gripe about. Utah got three lotto picks out of New Jersey - we didn't have those kinds of assets to offer. People will say we should have gotten DWill... but I question whether it was even possible. Again Wilson and Mozgov are nice assets, but they're not lotto picks. This trade allows Utah to select Jimmer Fredette in the lotto this year, in all likelihood. Their fan base will be thrilled. ¿ △ ?

And the lotto picks thing is a big point. I think a key reason Denver liked the Knicks package of young veterans in the end was because George Karl wanted to make the playoffs desperately and they saw the value in that. ¿ △ ?
