replacing landry fields with jr "dumbest player in the league" smith might just be too much.

why would they want to dump JR Smith? he's got an expiring contract.

Do you do it if the two are Landry and Gallo?

that is the offer that scares me... i really don't want to give up Fields, he's so versatile & i can picture him doing well playing with just about anyone... giving up Gallo & AR would be the obvious choice if we had to pick 2 out of the 4 at this point... even still, when u consider the fact that we'd be able to retain both Wilson & AR & adding Melo to this roster, i think it's a deal u can't pass up on... the entire argument against Melo is that no one wants to gut the entire roster to obtain him... well giving up 2 of the 4 young guys we have would not entail gutting the roster & you'd be adding a top 3 scorer in the NBA... that's too good to pass up on IMHO.

i go back and forth... but i love fields and i can see him making huge plays in the playoffs over and over.

i think that denver will ask for gallo, fields and a #1 pick (which we'll need to trade AR to get) + curry's deal.

it's a tough pill to swallow. that's why i think it's what they'll ask for.

I don't know. If i'm DW I think hey i'm giving you cap relief a Pick, plus Gallo, why do I need to throw in a near ROY too? Who else are they gonna deal with at this point? We all know that we can just stand pat and get Melo. I think they give up Walker rather than let Fields go. Fields is one of those glue guys that every good team needs. Those guys are hard to find. I don't know. Seems like it's time to play hardball.

I'm not as high on AR as I am gallo. But I'm willing to part with 2 of 3, fields is off the table IMHO. Defense and doesn't need the ball...we have more than enough OTHER players to include in a deal.

i'm not as high on AR as i am on Gallo either... if we could get Melo for AR & Fields, you still wouldn't do it?

In a heart beat...if Walsh somehow keeps gallo and Chandler I'm getting a Donnie Walsh jersey.

Let's go Knicks. That's amare

karl hates his guts.

we offer azubuike (medical insurance covers 80%) for jr smith to sweeten the pot financially and make karl happier, i suppose. but man do i hate jr smith.

what if DEN were willing to throw in Birdman in a Melo deal if we're willing to give up Gallo, Fields & AR... would you guys do that trade? would solve our need in the frontcourt w/the perfect complementary frontcourt guy to share minutes w/Turiaf up front, & would get DEN some cap relief.

if that was on the table that would put me in the fishmike camp.

such a player would drive mda nuts, not good. we dont need mda to double his xanax.

I don't think cap relief is a selling point as melo leaving is cap relief in itself...it's interesting that nene is in the same boat as melo contract wise, imaging turning Chandler AND Gallo in nene and melo.

I'd lose my mind.

there's a lot of posturing going on right now. but denver does have SOME leverage.

they can send him to a team that gives a better offer and just wants to rent him and convince him once he's there.

we should be VERY wary of chicago. and still new jersey, though to a lesser extent.

that's an excellent idea.

birdman would be a perfect bench big for this team.

yes, please.

just saying it would pretty much be a Gallo & Fields trade for Melo... ur also getting Birdman to replace AR, who's currently giving us nothing anyway... i would have a hard time passing up that trade if they offered it.

i don't think there's any way DW passes up on a deal like that... it would address every one of our needs at this point except for a backup PG, & would allow us to retain Wilson C this summer as a RFA.

birdman can jump freakishly high to block a shot, but i dunno would he get along with mda? would jr smith get along with mda??

plus we give up fields who is becoming my favorite knick cries. i dunno. man i hope those mayo rumors are true.

He worries me too b/c of his past drug problems. He's got a much more quiet place to live by Denver. NY is a MUCH different story. I can see how he can kick back, God forbid, if he were to come to NY. Again, I say, God forbid, if a trade scenario like this were to happen.

I was at the game and I thought it was obvious we need someone like Carmelo on the Knicks. When Amar'e came out of the game, the Knicks were good, but they weren't in the same league as the Nuggets. The Knicks' current top three players are not good enough to do anything of note in the playoffs
