Yeah he's a very solid player and gives the rotation a good level of versatility. Being able to put Chan on the 2nd unit is a HUGE boost for this team. Chan is ready from what I saw. He looks like he actually knows he's the man in that 2nd unit and he's not deferring.
Yeah, when he has a good look he is taking it. Like I said in the game thread, I wish that they would run the offense through him more. He makes a tough shot then nada. I don't want him to force it, its just he can lose a defender pretty easily when he wants to and hit a floater or drive.
He'll do more as he becomes more comfortable. He's got a good first step, pretty good court vision, and seems to make good decisions.
Don't think they would even think to run the offense through him at this point. He is going to be an opportunistic scorer and not try to force things.
Funny thing about this guy- he has played the same way in the SL, Pre-season, and now game one. How many times do you see this kind of consistency from a rookie.
The ATDHE feed was from the Toronto broadcast. At one point one of their guys said the Knicks considered Fields a late lottery to the later part of round 1 talent. I've never heard or read this from another source, but Fields seems to be validating that statement up to now.
Hope he continues to improve, and his 3pt stroke stays consistent.
