Violent acts against women are never cool.

Never.

Whether this "kid" gets through this or not is immaterial right now. What about the physical and mental after-effects on the young girl?

If Plexico is doing two years for accidentally discharging a concealed weapon, Stephenson belongs in Attica for 36 months.

If this is true, and Stevenson is really like this, the NBA is not for him, where he'll be surrounded by women. Women that don't care for him, but his money and his caca. If he just entered the NBA right after this, is he going to treat all of those leetches any differently when they piss him off? (And you know they will.) I highly doubt it.

If he wants to enter the NBA, he needs to enter some serious therapy, do his time, go through his punishments, prove that he's learned his lessons, changed himself and truely feels sorry for his actions. THEN he can step on an NBA court.

Yet, to get to a basketball point, here we are complaining about Rautins. He's working on his game with team Canada, while we beeotch about not taking Stephenson as he pushes his girlfriend down a flight of stairs.

And Landry Field appears to be working with the team, but at least he hopefully isn't doing the same crap.

PS, I hope this woman is OK, whether she's a nasty prick or not.

I doubt it. Her meal ticket is their child. As soon as he starts to sign higher paying contracts, her monthly allowance will go up as well.

He's not going to be signing any contracts as long as he keeps going down this road, and if that's the case, this woman will have to rely on herself, like a normal person.

First of all, I think of myself as the last person to judge anyone. However, we have men and women on this planet. That is the first and foremost way to classify humans into 2 categories. Everything else comes second. If a guy is gonna be carrying a stroller up the stairs, noone will offer help. If a woman is doing it some, people will offer to help her out. It don't matter if she is 6'3 250, she is still a woman. Mr. Stephenson has clearly a very low degree of morals and ethics. I can't blame him for that. He is definately a low-life and that is his problem. If he did this to a guy, he would be just a thug. Since there is a woman involved - he is just someone to feel sorry about, thats all. Btw, I don't care what he does off the court. He is still a professional athlete and we still might be sorry for not drafting him.

I think most here are interpreting that you give Lance a pass since he is young and stupid. Problem is that he was old enough to father a child with this woman and old enough for this to be (at least) his second offense in major issues with the law. Being young is not an excuse for acting abusive or making decisions that physically hurt others.....also the law agrees and does not differentiate a penalty if someone is 19 vs 30 years old.

Further - when you write "I'm sure the charges will be dropped if she gets a check" - it implies that you feel the woman is implicit in her own abuse, and wanted to have her head bashed ....just so she could collect in a payday. This tends to show that you actually place blame on her and have little to no sympathy for the opposite sex nor hold woman in high regard.

Sorry - but what you typed actually reveals what type of person you tend to be.

Yeah, gotta pile on you for this one. 19 year olds are still adults and you still know right from wrong. You don't start being accountable at the age of 30. You get brownie points for not hitting women? Wow. So it's ok if you do but it'll be a plus on your ledger if you don't? And you are complaining that people think you're saying its ok to hit women? DId you also know he has a history of sexual abuse at 17 and lol at assuming this was his first gf, being a basketballl star at age 19.

When he misses time on the basketball court because he is in a legal court or locked up, you will care what he does off the court.

The red flag that hung over his head prior to the draft has just gotten a little redder.

I think Eny got caught up in a contrarian position which I can appreciate. Its not defending but seeking to look at different angles than making a "value statement".

My take is Eny was trying to project a scenario where she provoked him. Stephenson has a history and the mere fact she has him in his life is the problem. Should a baby mamma be entitled to stay out late with the girls until 5am and not answer his calls without a beat down? I think most would agree.

It takes a bit of writing skill and patience not usually found in chat forums to fully communicate what Eny is trying to do.

"My take is Eny was trying to project a scenario where she provoked him."

SFX: buzzer

A man does not respond with violence even when provoked by a woman. Violence against a woman is a punk move. A cowardly act that displays nothing but a lack of self-control.

I don't care what she might have said or did. It is irrelevant. It does not make one bit of difference. Punk move. Period.

Nalod - Forget about trying to rationalize the words of enyspree... why not ask an opinion from the woman you are closest to?

Now, THAT is a manly move.

You get what I'm saying. I hate retyping stuff. I just need to remember there are just some irrational people out here that only want to hear what they wanna hear....or in this case can't read for ****.

Bottom line is I don't believe the stuff reported. He hasn't been convicted of anything. He's been charged which is another way of saying accused. If its true he deserves whatever he gets. I'm not one to pass judgement because of some garbage I read in the paper.

I'm with ya on this Eny, these same people say, don't believe everything you read in the paper, then contradict themselves when it's convient.

I don't think anyone things hitting a women is cool.

But, I'd have to real also. If My daughter beat her boyfriend and one day he hit her back I'd have say she had it coming. I think people for all kinds of crazy reasons can escalate a situation as well as prevent it.

We talk to my daughter about control personalities and how to recognize that it can grow into violence.

Verbal abuse is also dangerous.

I don't agree with all Eny says but its ok to say there are provoking scenarios that lead to regrettable outcomes.

Or........

"Its not cool to hit a women, but I UNDERSTAND>>>>!"

I guess "had it coming" was a bad choice on my part.

Does it "Justify" being thrown down the stairs? No. Never.

Don't confuse "provication" with "justification".

I prescribe to "Prevention".

Why entertain misterearl?....he's not reading anybody's posts. He's not trying to hear anything. He keeps repeating the same thing over and over.

Again at 19 you don't know any better and think you have to confront and give whoever a piece of your mind. Ive done that and cursed our a girlfriend I had in the middle of the night. Looking back that's embarrasing. Nowadays I wouldn't even call or answer texts back if things were getting crazy. When I was younger I look back and can see something like what lance is going through happen to me. Not saying I would throw a woman down the stairs and then bang her head on the floor with witnesses around watching. I think the story sounds ridiculous. One thing is for sure is the girl did fall down the stairs but I find it hard to believe he physically threw her and then spiked her head on the step. That's why we got a legal system

I wrote this already but whatever...

Cue misterearl to say "what if it was your daughter or someone else?" What is the point of repeating that? It doesn't change anything. All its doing is pissing me off to no end. I think that's misterearls real intention for anything he says on this forum. Good job bro.
