Since the Bay area has a large Asian community would signing Lin be considered a "community pick up".

Still think Patty Mills is the way to go - similar to CJ Watson only 4 years younger and he should come a lot cheaper (Watson just got 3 years, 2 guaranteed, for $10M from the Bulls)..Sign Mills to an offer sheet -- something like 2 years $3-3.5M total and see if the Blazers match..I bet they wouldn't. If the Blazers do pull him back, then you work on getting him as part of a Rudy Fernandez package...They like Rudy anyway..I think Rudy & Mills for Chandler is actually pretty decent value.

Looked like more than just some community pick-up when he was taking John Wall to school in the SL.

I've said it before and will say it again....

I'm sure the Knicks like Lin.

To me - the fact they didn't go after him as a 3rd point guard -- tells me they already have their eyes on some other type of deal or some other type of point guard.

Maybe its a 2-1 for a SG that brings back a back up point guard or maybe it's a veteran point guard that they are waiting for the market to play out on (E. Watson type player).

It's not like they wouldn't have interest --- it just seems they have more interest somewhere else.

You could say the same about Dallas, the Lakers etc. There is no basis for speculation based on the info that has come out.

So does a Lin signing mean that the Warrior's have replaced the Lakers as the next great franchise?

I'm assuming that Mitch Kupchack (like Donnie Walsh) was completely asleep behind the wheel by missing out on Lin.

LivingLegend - how can you suggest any assumption that Donnie is asleep behind the wheel if he had Jeremy Lin in for a workout?

Maybe Kahn is right, get as many points in and see who sticks!

Tongue in cheek answer on LivingLegend's part, I do believe.

Tongue in cheek comment.

Just kidding with Briggs because sometimes I think he HYPER-SIZES things just a bit. I do like Briggs and value his posts just poking some fun that's all.

I bet that after Lin starts getting some minutes, Walsh will feel like he did last year letting Jennings slip (albeit at a different level - I hope!). Really, some of the moves we make make no sense. A real floor general who can shoot (and defend ok). What gives?
