Initially, due to the fact that I have not seen a lot of GSW games and BRIGGS, I preferred AR as well. But then, I watched this highlight clips of Ellis and I said WTF? The man can play.

Ellis and Randolph are coming to NY in this scenario?

Not the trade being talked about, but if you really want Ellis and Randolph for Lee I think that it almost works out salary wise.

I would rather have Randolph over Ellis, but maybe MDA thinks he can make Ellis into a PG

Ellis' D can be terrible at times- How much time was he on the floor when Jennings went off against GS?

I have to say if we end up with amare and ellis even if we get AR that's an F for Walsh. You thought our defense was bad last year? That's one of the most selfish players in the league.

Essentially we took on Amare and his questionable health and Ellis when we could have resigned Lee, kept hill and let zach and jamal expire and have the cap room to go after melo and parker.

Package one is fine as it maintains flexibility. Gallo will never get a shot again if that trade goes through

i think anthony randolph would be an absolute steal. he would mostly replace david lee's production and he's got more size to be a better shotblocker. go get him, donnie!!

http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/17829/david-lee-waiting-on-lebron

LeBron James and David Lee are the last of the top uncommitted free agents on our Top Free Agent list.

Once LeBron announces his intentions tonight at 9 p.m. on ESPN, Lee should know pretty quickly where he'll land.

League sources tell me that the Warriors are in the lead to land Lee in a sign-and-trade with the Knicks if New York doesn't win the LeBron Lottery tonight.

The deal, according to sources, would send Lee to the Warriors for Anthony Randolph, Ronny Turiaf and Kelenna Azubuike among others. The deal was first reported by Marcus Thompson of the Contra Costa Times.

Knicks GM Donnie Walsh has coveted Randolph for years and feels he'd give them another long, athletic forward to pair with Amare Stoudemire and Danilo Gallinari in the front court.

If the Knicks do land LeBron tonight, they'll have to renounce their rights to Lee in order to fit in LeBron under the cap. That will kill any chances of a sign-and-trade.

A source cautioned that things with Lee remain incredibly fluid given the amount of uncertainty out there about LeBron's and the Knicks' plans. Other teams including the Suns, Timberwolves and Nets have made pitches to Lee and things could change in the next few hours as Lee makes up his mind. The Knicks are also engaged in numerous trade talks at the moment and could still decide to go in another direction as well. But as of Thursday at noon, the odds are stacked in the Warriors favor.

The Knicks HAVE to take Randolph and Turiaf for Lee. It's not even a question. I would take those two over Ellis every day of the year.

No kidding. I want no part of Ellis. Ronny and AR is a good deal solves multiple needs and allows the knicks to add backcourt depth or just give miller 10 million to spite Miami

I could definitely live with Anthony Randolph, Ronny Turiaf and Kelenna Azubuike. These are also 3 of the guys on the Warriors who actually play some D, if I remember correctly.

I'm actually a relatively big fan of Ellis' game and I agree with this completely

I hope Walsh does this with out input from D'Antoni. I really want Randolph and I think he would push for Ellis.

Ellis is not a good defensive player, but has also never been challenged to do so. That (and his size) are his only negatives. In a lot of ways he's the David Lee of SGs. He's very effecient. He usually shoots just under 50% and gets to the line a lot. He gets a ton of assists and helps on the boards also. He's lighting quick and great in the open court.

He also gets his hands on a ton of balls. He might not be a great m2m defender but he does get in passing lanes and also comes up with a lot of steals. I didnt check but I'm guessing he's in the top 10 in the NBA at steals. OK.. I just checked and the dude is 2nd in the NBA in steals behind only Rondo.

Thats a GREAT fit. A very high % scorer who gets tons of assists and steals and who is brilliant in the open court.

This is not Jamal Crawford. Monta Ellis is a good player and we would run the perfect system. I would love to get Ellis back in a trade.

JUST SAY NO, to Ellis. He is a good guard, but he is not really a PG, is paid too much, and is terrible on defense. Save the cap space Walsh. Trade Lee for Randolph and whatever and call it a day.

Please.

Monta Ellis would be an epic failure here. A chucker who averaged 5 turnovers a game last year. This guy is out of control and has a low basketball IQ. Not to mention he plays no defense.

No to Monta Ellis. Bring in Anthony Randolph.

Let's not forget that he's a shooting guard (not even a point guard) who averaged 4 turnovers a game last year
