TD sat for long stretches of the seasson in between those 20+ min performances you're referencing... i'd hardly expect a veteran to come out & produce big numbers seeing that kind of sporadic play much less a rookie... look at his statlines he put up in November when he was seeing minutes for 4 straight games he put up 16, 21, 23 & 15... then he goes back to seeing sporadic minutes for the rest of the year... not just til the past 4 games has he had this amount of regular burn in the rotation & he's responded with 11, 2, 19 & 19, & tonight he put up a career high in assists with 7... rookies need regular burn to develop... getting minutes in 1 game then sitting back down on the bench for another 2 weeks is not a good way for a young kid to gain confidence in his game & get acclimated to the speed of the NBA... this kid should have been playing regular minutes from the beginning of the season, case closed... there is no possible justification u can give to defend MDA on this one.
in the postgame, MDA was asked what TD was doing differently now that he wasn't doing before that warranted him getting more playing time... all he could say was that he couldn't just give it to him he had to earn his minutes... if that's the mantra, what was Chris Duhon doing out on the floor all that time when he was struggling? what did he do this season to earn those minutes & why did it take so long for MDA to finally get it through his head that he needed to go in a different direction? do u really believe the crap he dishes out? seriously bro... do u?
