This trade has the chance of stinking up big time for us- the fact is that Bosh will most likely stay in Toronto, Wade has made it clear he has no desire what so ever to come to New York, and I think LeBron has been flirting with us for ego purposes and has no intention of coming. Even if we did sign lebron, without the other two coming then it makes no sense to have the extra cap room for this offseason- we may as well just of waited the extra year until Curry and Jeffries came off the books and we'd be set to sign another star and have all our picks. This is an Isiah style trade whereby we gamble everything for a payoff which from our recent history, we never seem to get lucky enough to get. We have slim to zero chance of signing 2 stars this off season! We gave up essentially 3 picks for a pocketful of dreams! Good Grief!

One thing I will say is that Houston made out like BANDITS! Look at everything they got for T-Mac! Ridiculous!

Donnie needs to be put out to pasture. He negotiated so poorly that it is a disgrace that he is a Knick GM.
Great plan, just terribly executed.

Really is a bit too much to try and nitpick when a guy comes into a situation where EVERYONE knows he's trying to pawn off crap to get cap space and he still gets it done. In the end we really haven't lost out on much for what we can get in return.

You think this situation was easy or something? We had practically nothing to trade and no strength of bargaining position. Still at the end of the day, he got us to where we needed to be. 2 MAX FA cap space is nothing to sneeze at.

I want to see what the pick is that he got for Nate. I was very disappointed that Hill and a pick were moved but Walsh's plan wasn't a secret so was not in a good bargaining position.

it's almost impossible to arrange a sign and trade for a free agent if you don't first have the outright cap space to sign them. the only leverage is - "look, we can just sign your guy for nothing, we're trying to work with you to make the money right for everyone."

when players pass their physicals. i'd say it's pretty official. no one is going to want to do undo this. everyone got what they wanted.

I'm not entirely happy with the trade because of giving those picks, but time will tell if it was worth the risk. No big complaints anyway, I just can live with the deal.

I really hope after Donnie retires, Dolan is smart enough to throw the big bucks at Morey and give him complete control of the franchise.

The guy is a genius (literally, MIT Sloan business school grad).

Not that I wouldnt take that roster, but I can't see how TMAc and Lebron coexist, unless TMac finally starts being the "next Scottie Pippen"

nixluva, you're the same guy who consistently defended MDA all year for having a plan in playing Fishlips 35+ a night because he was pumping up his trade value... we just gave up 3 potential lottery picks to dump his contract... how you feel now about that plan of his? looks to me like we just got bent over a barrel & stripped of all our future assets to me... all for a guy who's value was supposed to increase from all the minutes he saw this year... scary to think what we would have had to give up had MDA not played him all those minutes, eh? maybe 6 future lottery picks? wow... gotta give MDA credit, he really stuck to his guns & executed that plan brilliantly.

Well, if we get NOBODY this offseason, I don't think we'll worry about giving up picks. We'll be the WORST team in the league next season and probaby win the lotto.
